In my latest round of deferred maintenance.... as the weather gets cold in CT, the secondary air injection pump needs to do its thing. Mine started to squeal last year.
I have seen YT guys pulling the pump and lubing the bearings.

That seems a short term fix at best. Has anyone replaced the bearings? Seems like it should be straightforward. The issue is not starting the job that cannot be finished.

And yes, I know that others have removed the pump entirely. Not thinking about that yet. If it works within reason, I have no objection to using it.

But likely not going to buy a new one. Those are crazy expensive.

Thoughts?
The only place where it is REQUIRED is the Republic of California.
Removing the pump and reprogramming the car as a RoW is the only real fix.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
