Soft top potentially available

I have a 2000 black soft top with a cracked plastic window. I’m replacing it with a blue 2003 top with a glass window. If the install goes well I’ll have the original without a home.

Shipping is expensive, but does anyone need a top?

Andrew

Are you sure you want the glass window?
I REALLY don't like it on '97-'02 Boxsters.
It doesn't allow for easy engine access, it's more costly, it offers reduced rear vision, it's heavier.
Reconsider. Many people i know who have gone glass, eventually regret it.

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna

I couldn't find anyone who would sew in a new plastic panel and I got the top for $1075+shipping - at today's prices, that's what a top (without the frame) would have run off of Amazon (and I hear the fitment of all of those it a PITA and hit or miss).
I'm not concerned with the weight (I'm not racing a 26 year old car) and I like the thought of avoiding the Boxster chop and the scratching and hazing of the plastic over the next 26 years.
I'm sure my mechanic can figure out the access - he's the one putting it on.

Appreciate the thoughts and concern, however.

Offer stands if someone wants to pay shipping.

Do you have Maurice's 3-part write up on the install? If not send me your email at my obvious gmail address and I'll send you the 3 zips.

I’m not installing it, my mechanic is while replacing the tiptronic transmission.

I've had my 'new' glass windowed soft top for a few weeks now - gotta say, I'm loving it.

It is a bit heavier, so it wants to 'clunk' the plexi wind screen as I'm putting it down (the weight pulls it a bit lower), but I can easily live with that.

The ride is still noisy, but it's quieter with new (2003) top than the original plastic (2000).

Now I need 26 more years of driving for a full comparison.
