As all of you may be aware, several days ago an attempt was made to stop the water leakage at the Japanese reactor(s) using a mixture of sawdust, etc. When I heard this failed, I immediately thought of Stop Leak, or whatever that stuff is called that's used for leaking car coolant systems. I figured it was a whacky idea, and wouldn't have much credibility if I were to somehow get a hold of someonby Laz - Main Forum

For about as long as I've been driving I've used a quick headlight flash as a way of letting a trucker know if it's ok to back in lane ahead of me. Countless times they've given a quick off/on with their running lights in acknowledgement. For me it's part of the fun and sense of community when driving. The local area of road is a shared neighborhood, albeit temporary.by Laz - Main Forum
... but along with those obnoxious "Baby On Board" signs, it's another thing that Europeans (at least the Germans) understand the proper meaning of, and in this case, "Please let me pass in the passing lane." Passing on the right is relatively dangerous, nicht wahr?by Laz - Main Forum

Intended to be called the "904" but because of the problem they had with Peugeot (901 became 911,) it was officially named "Carrera GTS."by Laz - Main Forum
Just as in 986 Boxsters: the side mirrors, the windows, the doors overall, and the side air intakes are repeating forms.by Laz - Main Forum
... it does look like it has an acoustic purpose, well considered by the professional makers of the video. It doesn't appear to be Sonex, though. I saw one at a dealership, but didn't think to look up, what with so much to relish from the driver's point of view.by Laz - Main Forum
I don't know the design history of the car, but it seems some inspiration comes from the 904 Carrera. The 918 picks up on that also.by Laz - Main Forum
The first one has a lot of nice cinematography, and the second shows some of the chassis and has some technical information. Looks great full screen at 720 res. I like, too, that the music doesn't overwhelm the sound of the car as so many videos do.by Laz - Main Forum
I think I have this correctly: A guy biking with Robert Pirsig had a problem with the throttle handle on his BMW. Pirsig fixed it by making a shim out of coffee can metal. The guy was horrified by the thought of his vaunted Beemer being repaired this way, but it worked.by Laz - Main Forum
I do understand that Googling can be merely facile, but along with various sources, media, and most importantly, critical thinking, it has its place. What are the ramifications of someone Googling about Porsches and coming upon this site? Also, doesn't this thread better meet the definition of the Board Suggestions forum? Then again, I never tell the truth. Do you believe me?by Laz - Main Forum
I wasn't aware of this tire's existence, but after studying the specs at Tire Rack's site, it may have more sidewall stiffness (a supposed N-spec attribute) as indicated by its higher Maximum Load Rating and that at least with the 205-50-17, it weighs more than the RE050A PP. I don't think the siping will be as effective for water evacuation as the 050, but Bridgestone's site emphasizes that it'sby Laz - Main Forum
It could be that a fuel line wasn't properly fastened when the new engine was put in, eventually working loose. What ignited the spilled gas is up for more conjecture. Concerning the "lit cigarette in the intake" proposition: I recall Porsche sending out a TSB or some other written notice cautioning against such occurrences, supporting its grounding in fact.by Laz - Main Forum
