I've used that tightening technique. I read somewhere that from 2003 on the socket is made to standard measurement rather than metric. As it's been mentioned this ought to be a straightforward replacement, albeit a bit tricky.by Laz - Main Forum
Which could've been McQueen. Unfortunately it's too late to ask him. Btw, I have the original LeMans movie poster that I got at a Gulf station when the movie came out.by Laz - Main Forum
I used to wonder about my 912's heater boxes wrapped around the exhaust manifolds. I never had a monoxide issue, but once after driving through a deep puddle, steam started shooting out of all the vents, including the backlight's. (Hey, we're talking about a '66 here.) It was like the classic secret agent-being-knocked out scenario.by Laz - Main Forum
You still might have to give the plug a push every now and then, especially if you're on a bumpy road. When you put on the sleeve, be sure that the plug's side contacts are exposed through the sleeve's cutaways. Get two, as they're very inexpensive. While you're at it, get a "red clip" for the top's microswitch if you haven't already. Probably the cheapest Porsche part in world, so get two.by Laz - Main Forum

Once while working on my 88 CRX with the driver's door open, the radar detector started bleeping. I looked around for a police car, but nothing. This went on for a while with no evidence of police near by, so I just shut it off. I had the door open for several hours when I noticed the dome light was very dim. The car barely cranked, but started, so I left it running a while. When I turned on theby Laz - Main Forum

M+S Note there's no low temperature compound requirement. I always mention this to people with vehicles that have 4-wheel drive and especially SUVs with blocky all-season tires, even if M+S designated. The inset photo of the Goodyear Aquatred caught my eye. I always thought it was a goofy idea, like six-wheeled Formula One cars.by Laz - Main Forum
In summer, Ultimate Driving Machines in the weeds. In winter, Swedish cars and SUVs in the medians and culverts.by Laz - Main Forum
Maybe they did it to emphasize color differences at the fairly small display size, but it doesn't help with judging the aesthetic harmony. Also, I don't see a difference between the Arctic and GT Silver body colors, but the other colors appear to be lots more accurate than the Porsche site's repro.by Laz - Main Forum

Aside from my having to do a color space and monitor calibration, Porsche's web site color rendition is awful; chroma, hue, and lightness being way off. Most any image on the net at best has some sort of cast, and I've yet to find a side-by-side. (Shots in the shade, shots early or late in the day, or crummy fluorescent* lighting, etc.) It seems that Platinum Silver is slightly darker and warmby Laz - Main Forum
