I don't think seasonal changes will be the reason for a price drop in the 2009 to 2012 Boxster, but I see a big price drop for another reason. The more I read about the 981 base Boxster, the more I think there should be a substantial price difference in the 987. Similar effects were seen in the price of the C5 generation Corvette after the C6 was out for awhile. I will be buying a Boxster in tby SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
I'm very interested in what you find in your search for a 2009 to 20012 Boxster. I'm keeping an eye on the market. I'm a "lurker" here and don't post much. My general impression is that most cars in this range are being sold by dealers. I've noticed a substantial price drop on Autotrader in the last few months.by SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
I just checked the Autotrader market, and it's my impression that the prices on used 2009 to 20012 Boxsters have started to drop. This is the trend I expected to see. I'm particularly interested in those owned by private sellers who are the original owner. I thank this board for educating me on the IMSB issue.by SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
This may be a new addition, but now there is a video of winter testing the new Boxster on the Auto-motor-und-sport site. Those who have looked at it earlier might comment if it has been improved.by SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
I just lurk here to keep up on Boxster developments, but this was too good not to post. Porsches in Greeceby SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
I'll be looking for a base Boxster in the 2009 to 2012 MY range at some point. There is some question regarding the possible future issues with direct injection on the "S" model. The crux of it is that the valves are not cleaned with the incoming fuel air mixture on an engine with direct injection. I'll leave it to you to do your own research on the matter and come to your own conclusion. I'dby SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
I was a student at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and attended the 1961 US Grand Prix. I also was able to attend practice sessions in the days before the race. In the practice session days, we were allowed to walk in the pits unrestricted. Nothing like that is available today. I was smart enough at the time to be careful where I stood to watch the race. I'll try and add something to this topic that hasn't been beaten to death around here. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it makes financial sense to hold on to my BMW Z3 and use it as a winter car while a Boxster would serve from around April 1 to November 1. I'm holding off doing anything right now, because I don't see the current situation as sustainable in the long term. I don'tby SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
I haven't rented a car in Europe for awhile, but I always travel with two credit cards from different institutions. I have a credit union card for ATM withdrawal and general use. It has lower fees. The other, from a major bank, stays in the hotel safe along with the plane tickets and passports.by SteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) - Main Forum
