Hey, I never said I prefer driving a SUV....just that I didn't miss driving the Boxster. Although I'm startin now to get the itch. Good thing I didn't sell it! ; Happy New Years to you all! FXboyby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Did you check your tension cables at the rear/underside of the top? They look like what's below, and are at both sides at the rear...the cables that you must undo when you put the top in the service position to get at the engine. They pull the back of the top down when you close your top. If these snap, as one of mine did, the back of your top will not pull all the way down as what's in your pic.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Yep, and some people don't realize that just cause you can move forward with traction doesn't mean you can stop as well! Had someone almost tailgating me today. Unbelievable. Hope you didn't get hit hard up there Guenter!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Ok here in Northern NJ. After more than a foot of snow fell overnight, I dumbly went out at 7am to see how bad the roads really were. Not THAT bad, but decided it better to just stop off at Mickey D's for breakfast and head back to work from home instead. Lol. Don't think the Boxster would've fared so well in this weather, as I had to drive through some areas where the roads weren't plowed, butby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
They're functional. For example, on my Speedmaster chronograph, the large sweep seconds hand measures to a split second, the right subdial for minutes, the lower subdual to count hours, and the left subdial is for the watch's regular timekeeping seconds, independent of the stopwatch function. The top button starts the timing and stops it, and the bottom button resets the stopwatch back to zero. Oby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Just filled with 87, and it was $2.99 vs $3.39 per gallon, so $0.40 difference per gallon. So far can't feel a difference in power, but not really pushin it cause it's snowing out!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
The engine in my SUV is the same 280hp 3.5L V6 used in the 350Z, so I was surprised that the manual stated all it needs is 87 octane. It did say that you would get better performance with 91, however. I'm going to fill up today with 87 and see how it goes, and if mpg suffers. Thanks Marc and Pedro for the input.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro. The manual states that one should use at least unleaded regular gas with 87AKI (91RON), but they recommend premium 91AKI(96RON), for improved performance. I read that as 87 will suffice, but 91 if you want to extract the most power out of it. Unless I'm reading it wrong, your site is saying to just use what grade your vehicle is made to run.. eg., running 91 on an engine made for 87by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I was gonna ask this on the car specific forum for my particular vehicle (I'm talking about my Infiniti FX35 daily commuter), but figured they'd give me an answer of if you wanna protect your baby, use the best gas kinda answer, so here goes- after running 50+ miles per day roundtrip to work each day for over a month, I recently discovered that although the manufacturer "recommends" 91 grade fuelby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

I thought you were gonna say that in Ann Arbor, you're "more likely to see Santa flying overhead than a win against Ohio State." J/K.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I don't see any change in the steps to get the top in service position besides the one extra step of attaching the built in strap to hold the back of the window up. There's no difficulty in that to me, and the benefits of the glass over plastic are overwhelming, IMO. I'm pretty confident that for the majority of people who convert their tops from plastic to the OEM glass, they won't be disappoinby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

My elderly parents took one of their old Benzes to the dealer, and my mom asked if it mattered that she saw surface rust on the cat converters on the car...service advisor told her that it was $4k to order new converters. She called me, and then I called the service advisor to ask him why does my mom need to replace a catalytic converter when they work properly and pass inspection. He then said,by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Oh, and regarding that oil leak they say you have...don't necessarily believe that either...dealer once told me I had an RMS leak, and it turned out to be a small leak from the oil fill tube instead.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Call me a skeptic, but absent any drivability problems, I would get a second opinion. Dealers have a way of fabricating issues, especially when business is slow. Go to your local Pep Boys or Autozone and buy a cheap $40 OBDII code reader and read off the code yourself, and post here. You may not need to spend all that money.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Yep, got mine used but in terrific shape...from a guy whose friend wrecked his Boxster.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

For me at least, $700 for the 03 top and frame. Free installation at Maurice's house, and took about an hour going slow from start to finish (removing old top and frame, and bolting in the new one).by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
