Thanks for the suggestions! I did an SCCA AX school at the end of May and one of the things they did was chalk the tires. We drove in a tight circle about 4-5 loops around, then stopped to see how the tires were wearing. Mine were set right on the way I had them, which had been the recommended 32/37 cold. That was with the tires I had at the time, and I've since changed. I may take some cby Lorrie - Main Forum
Cool, thanks Pedro! I remembered you saying something about running around 40 but I wasn't sure exactly what you said. I was mostly worried about my existing nearly BALD tires at BRBS! I'll see how they run tomorrow at first and adjust as needed, I'll set the rears a little high before I head out and see how they do.by Lorrie - Main Forum
What do you guys run your pressure at for autocross? Do you leave it at the recommended 32/37 adjust? I seem to recall Pedro telling me something at BRBS about running the rears at around 40 when doing AX. Anyone who wants to do some AX tomorrow morning, MSR PCA is doing AX in Millington, TN tomorrow morning. I'll be there bright and early!by Lorrie - Main Forum

All weekend long! Two days of Autocross fun. To be followed today and/or tomorrow by some serious cleaning work. Can't take it to BRBS that filthy, it has to get there and become that special kind of dirty than can only come from killing lots of bugs traveling to NC and the massive amount of pollen that will then settle on it overnight.by Lorrie - Main Forum

You should have seen this car, it had a tail and even made a mooing sound! (Since it was a ChumpCar, I'm sure something on it was rattling.)by Lorrie - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
New Engine? Brakes? HORNS?! I'm having visions of this car at a recent ChumpCar race that had horns, real horns, mounted on the front of the car. Not on my baby!by Lorrie - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Maybe I won't replace mine quite yet after all! I know, I'll have a set shipped in to Little Switzerland... Isn't Saturday the tech sessions / install day?by Lorrie - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

Thanks for all the suggestions, appreciate the help. Mainly I was looking at not what tires to buy but rather when to buy them. My current ones are just a fraction above the wear indicators, and they are 3/32 to 4/32 (or 1/8 as Red Lightnin pointed out) so they're really borderline. I might could get the trip to BRBS on them, but I don't think it's worth the risk. I'd rather not get 600by Lorrie - Main Forum
I have Michelin PS 19's on my car. (Love / Hate me now.) I am debating at what point to replace the tires. Anyone have recommendations as to at what tread depth they should be replaced? I know Tire Rack says 4/32 but of course I realize they are in the business of selling tires so they'll suggest maybe a bit earlier than is optimal for both wear and my wallet. I'm getting ready to go to Bby Lorrie - Main Forum

This is true dedication to driving! That or he's really ready to leave. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhZ_o833NtI (found it here: some of the comments are pretty funny) Also I'd be careful who you allow in the room when you get dental work done.by Lorrie - Main Forum
