Quotedghii "I guess ya'll in the Sunshine State can do whatever you darn well please, as long as you have enough money" I'm sorry to inform you that I am a Florida resident and I cannot do whatever I please. My wife won't let me. Now that is funny, wife trumps all!by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

...twice, once in the Boxster near Laramie and that cost me $140....89 in a 75! That was in 2006. This year I got stopped in the Bullitt for 81 in a 75! I only got a warning. It seems WY is less tolerant of any MPH over the limit. I measured the distance that I-80 does not turn out of Wendover and it was 41 miles before a slight left bend then MORE straight. I think the Salt flats were about 20by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...it had been a loooong time since I made that I-80 trip from SF. Wife and I decided to try to stay in Wendover and I was bowled over when we saw all the neon lights and casinos. The last time through all I saw were a few small time motels.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
First, Solar productions bought the car in Europe and my understanding is they sold it before leaving Europe. McQueen later bought a US 911 with the same color paint. His son Chad has that car as well as his Speedster. It is NOT green as the '68 Bullitt was, but gray. I just did recently speak with Chad when he signed my dash in the '08 Bullitt while in Palm Desert and he said he still has theby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Pretty small sample during a very small time frame! I believe bumper plug guy had a failure on the way one year, but he was in a Carrera. My 2 failures I assure you were not reported in a self serving way.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....we encountered most of this for the last 4 days and all I can say is I'm ready for anything. People reading while driving, driving with elbows while texting (this was a semi) Pulling out in front of me when there are NO CARS behind me, folks going 85 one instant and then 60 the next all while in overtaking lane and when the interstate goes through a city cars going 25 mph over limit and traveby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Although that car looks pretty much like the one in Le Mans, all books about McQueen's cars say it is NOT. Sorry we missed you Tino but I PMed you and never heard from you. We're planning on 10 weeks next year. Chad said he'd like to break bread with us and I'm gonna hold him to it.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

Well maybe not a video, but we do plan the photo the car on parts of the chase route. As Mary says, "car guys, what are you gonna do???"by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Brett, we're leaving tomorrow. Heading North to visit an old AF buddy in SF, then unfortunately, home. We are finding leaving the desert gets harder each year. Seriously considering relocation.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

I'm pretty amped up right now. I was driving through a parking lot wgen i spied a black Speedster and I thought replica?? Then I saw the Rudge wheels and thought no way a replica. I turned into a space and heard a voice from behind asking. "what number is your Bullitt" The guy in the Speedster looked an awful lot like Chad McQueen and IT WAS. I ran over to the Speedster and greeted Chad. My camby dennisafrompa - Main Forum

...but it's rising and my V8 is thirsty. I average about 4-5 mpg less than that 3.2 flat 6 did. I paid $3.77 for 91 octane.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I don't know about you, but my wheel crests had a mind of their own. They would always shift positions after a drive.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I really miss "The Shepp". He got me through college, listening to WOR in NYC way back when. Also miss his writing in C&D.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I've driven a Boxster cross-country to CA twice and to FL at least 4 times in the winter with summer tires only. Never an issue. I know cold temps scare folks here but I've driven in 20 degree temps with PS2s and never had a scary moment.....They do warm up even in the cold.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...although cooler today than usual, mid 60s. It will be in the 70s again tomorrow. Tino are you out there?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Hey other Dennis, not having the Rolex 24 is the one thing I don't like about being here in So Cal. Have fun. See you in April when we get back.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
