Macan Turbo, jet black metallic, black interior with dark walnut, premium package and a couple of odds and ends. Too **** expensive - but it should be fun compared to most SUVs!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Today I placed an order for a new Macan to replace Dianne's 10 year old Lexus GX (which will probably be my fishing truck). Expecting an August delivery. Despite my protests, she wanted black on black, and expects me to keep it clean. Guess I better order more P21! I never thought we would be a two Porsche family....by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
This was my 7th and we are already looking forward to our 8th. As always, Karl, Ron, Nell, and a host of others did an incredible job making this an incredibly fun four days. THANK YOU for your efforts! Just one question, how did you manage to get such beautiful weather despite the dire forecasts of constant rain?by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

Just wondering, if a used 5 speed is that much cheaper, is it practical to switch a Tip car to a manual tranny?by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I have had my 981 for about 2 1/2 years now and still think the PDK was the right choice. I probably use it in manual mode 60% of the time, but I live in the NC mountains where there are many driving opportunities Generally, I only put it in Auto when I hit the expressway to Atlanta at the foot of the mountains. The only exception is occasionally I use sport+ when I on a well known & deserby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

The guy I met who had European delivery of a 918 told me that he spent an entire day learning about the car, including some track time, at delivery Iin Weissach, I think). I doubt that it is required, though. mikeby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I was lucky enough to drive all over France and Germany with a fellow who had just taken delivery of one (I was driving a 911c4s). Never got to drive it but did get to sit in it. Beautiful car (as was his girlfriend).! I do have a 1/18th model of one, though. About as close I will ever get to owming one.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

I hope for next year Porsche comes out with a batter livery. The 919 is ugly enough already.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Dianne and I will arrive in Orlando on Wed afternoon. I noted that except for the welcome party Thursday evening, there are no planned evening activities. If anyone wants to get together for dinner and/or adult beverages one night, let me know. Cheers!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
They still do a great job - first class in every way/by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I used FastLane travel. They are in some way affiliated with PCA and do a great job (although expensive). This trip included stays at Lake Como, Monte Carlo, St Tropez, and Lyon (and of course, Stuttgart). This was our second trip with them - last year we went to Austira and Tuscany. May do another next year or 2016. Working hard to use up my daughter's inheritance!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I WISH! Actually, just returned from almost three weeks in Germany, Italy and France driving around in a C4s. One of the folks in our group had taken delivery of the 918 in the picture and I followed him most of the time. Beautiful car - but not sure I would have one even if I could afford it - too much trouble protecting it when parked and avoiding speed bumps. Did they change over to the rubber bumpers on the MGB mid-model in 1974? I had a 74 MGB and it had chrome bumpers (and a couple of huge rubber battering rams at each end.)by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
To be devil's advocate, last year in Excellence, a Porsche engineer said the larger wheels allowed them to run lower air pressures resulting in a.better ride and improved handling.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
In the case of the Boxster=Cayman hp differential, I guess they need it to justify the price relationship between the two cars - the only case I know where the couple is more expensive than the convertible.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Heck - I live in the NC mountains and would not miss BRBS. "its the people", people!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I think it is pretty speculative to say it would cost Porsche money to "un-detune" the 981. I doubt that the GTS will hurt 911 sales (it is only 10 hp short of the base 911); I really wonder how many 911 buyers would buy a 981 anyway if the 981 had the same hp. Of course, the other solution is to up the hp in the base 911. While we are on the topic, why detune the Boxster to have 10 hp less thby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
It just seems like such a waste of the dash landscape to include that stupid speedo. they should either make it usable or dump it and perhaps add another TFT screen (which could include a graphic speedo if desired.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I've got my marker out - think I'll change it to 400 hp! On U.S. public roads, you are right. It just bugs me that the marketing people at Porsche took away that extra h.p. OTOH, on German public roads, that extra would come in handy. Last year, I drove both a base 911 and a 911S on the autobahn. Over 150 mph, the extra horses make a difference.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I was reading an article in Excellence about the GTS. "According to the drive train engineer Matthias Hofstetter, there are no mechanical changes to the engine internals, and the modest power and torque increases come from a combination of ECU remapping and the slightly reduced back pressure of the sports exhaust system." I guess I must already have some of that extra hp since I have the PSE.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
How are your tires holding up? My 981 has around 16,000 miles and I just replaced the OEM Pirellis with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Actually, the front tires had more life in them, but the rears were getting down. I probably could have gone further, but with a couple of long trips in mind, I wanted to get it done locally rather than try to find a tire dealer while traveling.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
QuoteLaz As described in the owner's manual. Don't know if its because of the AGM battery, the regenerative braking, or something else about the charging circuitry. I was curious and looked at the online version of the manual. Looks fairly standard to me. Cheers,by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

Many years ago, I had a 914-6. It was an incredible handling car and great fun. I wish I still had it, but had to sell it to pay tuition.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
While I have serious doubts if they will be producing a 355 hp 718 lighter than a Boxster in the foreseeable future, I like the idea of a smaller, lightweight sportscar - as long as it is not a rebranded VW. Isn't that how Porsche got started? Also, as a side benefit, the Boxster would no longer be the "entry level" car and could evolve without that stigma.
