No, the PDK did all of the shifting. Look at the tach, lots of shifting going on!by Anker - Main Forum
Palmer Motorsports Park and the PCA Northeast region will be having a Porsche only show, swap meet and exhibition on October 8th. Bring your Porsche to show, your inventory of parts to the swap meet and join other Porsche fans at this first such event.by Anker - Events
A couple of suggestions/questions: Did you check whether the instruments turned off after removing the key? If they did stay on its most likely a problem with the ignition switch. Even if it wasn't the case I would install a new ignition switch. It is one of the known electrical fault causes and its quite inexpensive and relatively easy to replace.by Anker - Main Forum
You are nuts! Replace that reservoir!by Anker - Main Forum
You would have known if there was engine damage, Loud and expensive noises from the engine.by Anker - Main Forum
I use the standard RainEx-containing fluid you can buy lots of different places. Have never drained the reservoir and never had the washer fluid freeze. I live in inland Massachusetts and we get plenty of frost, down to negative numbers.by Anker - Main Forum
Does it also surge at idle speeds? If so, its probably an air leak.by Anker - Main Forum
I don't miss my Forester, The engine hated revving. Sounded like it was going to tear itself apart.by Anker - Main Forum
No doubt what I would do. Restore the 987S and get the Miata as a daily driver. I have a 2004 986S for fun and a Mercedes CLK 350 convertible as a daily driver. A great combination.by Anker - Main Forum
Missed this year's BRBS, but have signed up for 2018.by Anker - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Measure the lip at the edge of the rotor. If it is 1mm or more, it needs replacement.by Anker - Main Forum
Number 8 in the diagram, the trailing arms, may rattle when going over bumps. If you don't get the rattle when braking or accelerating, but only when coasting or under light loads there's a good chance it may be the trailing arms. The problem is with the ball joint at the chassis end, held by bolt 16. On mine there was no observable play and the boots were intact. But when I replaced the trailingby Anker - Main Forum
Somebody has eventually come up with an exhaust mod that restores some level of decent sound. Maybe not a flat 6 howl, but something much better than a Subaru (I owned one and don't miss it!)by Anker - Main Forum
Could be really bad news. The result will be that Audi gets the benefit of Porsche's racing involvement and R&D. Because of the huge difference in margins you will be able to purchase the same technology in an Audi for much less money than the same technology in a Porsche. This is a signal that VW Gruppe is turning Porsche into a cash cow that bleed until the brand collapses.by Anker - Main Forum
I'll be the first to sign up for one! How the heck do I send PMs with this software?by Anker - Main Forum
I don't know where your mechanic has his statistics from. Porsches are actually very reliable cars. Some Mercedes models are very bad. Check out Consumer Reports for reliability data and do a Google search on car reliability.by Anker - Main Forum
Get both, that's what I did. 2004 Boxster S and 2009 CLK 350. They complement each other really well. The Boxster is a blast to drive on windy, narrow roads. The CLK is ultra comfortable on the highway. And the top comes down on both of them!by Anker - Main Forum
The Bently and 101 Projects books say that you cannot do a brake fluid flush yourself if you have a newer car with ABS and PSM. Pedro's instructions don't mention this, so I wonder whether it is OK to flush and bleed my car myself. I would love to hear from our oracle, Pedro. Thanks/Ankerby Anker - Main Forum
The SLK has several weak points that you should research if you are serious. A better deal is a 2004-2009 CLK. It has a soft top and four seats. Much better luggage capacity and just like the SLK it is a cruiser. The CLK 500 has a little less power and oompf than a Boxster S, and the CLK 550 has addles of power. I own a CLK350 with the sports suspension and wheels as my daily driver. A super comby Anker - Main Forum
Priceless. Like the little Civics with huge mufflers.by Anker - Main Forum
And Panamera sales seem to be falling off a cliff!by Anker - Main Forum
As far as I understand from the OP's post one window works and the other doesn't. Normally both windows would work off a single fuse and I'd be surprised if it isn't the case here. If I am right it can't be the fuse.by Anker - Main Forum
Poor sods. Glad I am retired and can travel when traffic is light.by Anker - Main Forum
It would have to be stop and go city commuting to get that low a mileage! Best part of retirement was not to have to commute to Boston from the burbs any more! Ankerby Anker - Main Forum
Hard to imagine a Boxter without that sound. Its so much of the character of the car. Love it when I am driving on the highway and accelerate, the WOOOOOOOOOO! Ankerby Anker - Main Forum
