Ben Franklin was observing an early balloon flight in France. Someone else asked something like, “What good is it?” or “Of what use is it?” Franklin, realizing that a manned balloon flight portended unimaginable possibilities replied, “Of what use is a newborn baby?” Although stealing autonomous vehicles isn’t presently an issue one shouldn’t infer it won’t be one in the future.by Laz - Main Forum

Or system effects, with either type of battery if jumping either way? Also, I believe Porsche jumping instructions show a specific negative lead connector terminal at or near a windshield wiper pivot. I'm not sure if the instructions are only for when the Porsche needs the jump, or if it's ok to be the donor. Do you have insights into these questions? Thanks.by Laz - Main Forum

Toward the end of the linked article, this is mentioned, perhaps in jest. Perhaps "N" just stands for "nummer," or who knows what.by Laz - Main Forum

... that's not to be. PA4s felt fine on a trip that started out in mild-for-December weather in NY to 85º in Alabama. Then there was a cold snap down there, and much of the return trip, from Virginia on, was in snow. They showed no discernible wear or compound deterioration. Unfortunately for you, no PA (or any other high performance winter tire) is available in your size set; the only winter tby Laz - Main Forum
Friday I put the PA4s on, just beating the first cold snap, meaning driving at or below 45. The PZ4s, while excellent in rain, start becoming intolerant of temperatures below 60, and during hard acceleration axle tramp occurs. Pirelli’s warning about compound cracking near freezing is an incentive to change out, too. In contrast, the PA4s lay down power very nicely, and are very responsive. Thby Laz - Main Forum
... don't get too hung up on chips, (although they seem to show up right in the driver's line of sight!) The more you drive, the more the "real" world will throw stuff at you. It's a metaphor for life, I think. Hey, my 13 Boxster S will hit 77,777 miles later today, and it's been truly wonderful driving it all over the US: NY to California, Oregon, Idaho, the Dakotas, to...by Laz - Main Forum

My friend tells me the xenon headlight washers work, but not the windshield. He says he doesn't hear the motor when attempting to operate the windshield washer, so initially it seems to be an electrical issue. The fuse panel apparently doesn't show a specific fuse for the washer motor. (Are there separate motors for each fluid path?) Does anyone know which fuse(s) to check and perhaps which wirinby Laz - Main Forum

If anything, I wish they were more of a true snow tire, as I don't find them to be very good in some snowy situations. (Very dicey driving uphill in slush.) They are excellent for cold weather, and behave, for most any "normal" driving, very well. A few Decembers back I drove from New York to Alabama starting out in moderate, fall-like temperatures. As I got closer to and into Alabama, the temperby Laz - Main Forum

a few months back the car needed a (and I'm paraphrasing here) camshaft actuator solenoid. The car developed a super rough idle, which only smoothed out somewhat with the Sport throttle setting on. Also, a device that regulates gearbox (manual) cooling went bad. ~ 75,000 miles.by Laz - Main Forum
