If you don't want to sell the console yourself, work with Eric The Plug Guy. He has a swap program. He painted both my consoles and he has by far some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. Takes pride in workmanship, too. My Boxster console looked as good as new when I sold the car seven years later. My other has been in place for a year. It looked great on my speed yellow wby db997S - Main Forum
A reporter from Canada's Globe and Mail asked Matthias Mueller at the LA auto show which of the three new cars he'd spend his money on. He actually answered it and said the Cayman R. Figured he'd try to dance around it. This according to an article in today's Globe and Mail titled "Porsche 1, Naysayers 0." The basis of the article, though, is on the future of Porsche. VW is optomistic that iby db997S - Main Forum

The Honda S2000 was a four cylinder and it never lived up to expectations in its short life. Everybody ravved about the upper end of the RPM range, but reality set in when buyers realised that you just don't drive like that on a regular basis. With Turbos, to me, blowing a lower displacement engine doesn't cut it. You always feel like you have to step on the gas to get anywhere and that growsby db997S - Main Forum

Just kidding. Sounds tense, but so does having to turn your head and cough before boarding a plane. The 911 is one tough machine. Isn't there a rally version somewhere? Keep safe.by db997S - Main Forum
We also know that the IMS is the weak link in that engine. We don't know why the shaft is failing. I don't even think Porsche knows and they tear them apart to find out what caused the failure. If it was just the bearing that was the problem, than Porsche could have designed a similar one to LN and not had to totally redesign the engine to do away with the IMS. So, IMS failures can be happeniby db997S - Main Forum

They made it official today that a Cajun will be produced. Not sure if it will be based on the Q5 platform, but that has always been the rumor. Also, Porsche's Development Chief will now be CEO of Bentley Motors and VW's Engine Chief will now be the chief of Porsche Development. Porsche will also be charged with developing platforms for VW Group's sports cars and luxo sedans. While the mergerby db997S - Main Forum
My Boxsters and now my 997 have been daily drivers for me for a very long time. The only time they've stayed home has been when snow is in the forecast. We don't get enough down here in DC to justify the hassle of snow tires and the N rated tires are absolutely terrible in the snow, even a dusting on the roads get me nervous. A week after our back to back 2 foot snow storms last year, it was tby db997S - Main Forum
I would change out the engine mounts on your 2002. E-mail Pedro. I thought he posted on Porsche Pete's a ways back that he found a much better engine mount than the OEM (and he loves to track his Boxster). I'm not sure if they would work, but didn't Porsche install a "high-tech" engine mount on the newest GT3? I forget what is so special about them (soft middle?). If that would work on a 200by db997S - Main Forum

Happy hunting. Orange Porsches are great looking cars. You should also do some research as I believe at least one company (TPC in Maryland) has turbos for Boxsters now, think it is even a twin turbo. Now, that would be one Uber Boxster.by db997S - Main Forum

Where do you work that driving Porsche is not over the top? My garage at work is full of Benzes, Audis, BMWs, Lexi, etc. I'm the only Porsche. Even when I had a Boxster, everybody knew my car. When I met people at work that I didn't know they's say, "Oh, you're the one with the Porsche. Love that car/color." When I showed up last November in my new 997S Cab, word spread very quickly that Iby db997S - Main Forum
