Hey Pedro How are you "over there" ? Reminds me of a similar incident years ago...trying to pull the shift knob off a BMW,,,you just kinda' ...pull up.... then pull harder, .....until it lets go and you whack yourself in the chin...

"IF" the failure rate is "only 5%...(WHAT IS THE REAL RATE) Of the 3 Boxsters I have owned that were pre 2009 I did not have an IMS failure, BUT...it was always there in the back of my mind .. and dictated how I used the car. The 09 and now the 13 give me no worries of catastrophic failure....but now with the 13 there is the door "card" issue...(not a huge problem but somehow PORSCHE NEVER SEEMS

Any of the PORSCHES that have NOT had the upgraded IMS BEARING INSTALLED definitely ARE at a DISADVANTAGE to a KNOWLEDGEABLE BUYER. BUT, there are still some would be buyers who are unaware of the POTENTIAL problem. (Still about 10%?)

It's hard to get people to "tell the truth" about what they paid or what they sold the car for... I know I paid top dollar for the 2013 Base just bought, but the car was so nice that I was not going to let it get away.... When I sell it ( do you know me?) It will bring top dollar again..and since the 2013's are the first of the "current" style they will bring good resale... What's next ?? And, y

When I went "shopping" recently I came to the conclusion that the prices on low mileage one owner SUPER NICE, 2013 to 2015 Boxster is holding up well. The least expensive ones that I saw, Base non S, were in the $ 32,000 to $39,000 range ( Panorama advertisers ask 20% more)...these are 8 year old $ 50000/ $60,000 cars.

Thanks, all the other Boxsters were 6's, 2 were S's, You are right for "today's" kind of driving as a fun "go for a ride car the Base is good enough. The 4 cylinder engines are probably faster but...... Had to be a PDK, keep "The Boss" happy, she has already taken it for 2 "rides"..../ I came home and it was gone.....
