I did go the BMW route a couple of years ago and actually glued the balls in just for cosmetic value. They still fell out after one year. That's when I gave up. There was quite a discussion about these things over on the '986Forum' if you are interested in further reading do a search there. Good luck!by paulofto - Main Forum
They are a friction fit and are known to fall out. Check the socket they fit in. I can pretty much guarantee that the socket has a crack or slight split allowing the nozzle to pop in and pop out easily. I lost all 4. Here in the Great White North the temperature fluctuations cause the plastic to shrink and expand making the sockets loosen. The sockets and balls are not available as separate itemsby paulofto - Main Forum
You need to get to the 2 (or 3) radiators up front and disconnect the bottom hoses to drain the rads and the lines feeding them. You can kind of get to them from under the car but removing the front bumper makes it so much easier. Once drained you will need an Air Lift or equivalent to suck all the air out and draw in the right amount of coolant mix. Refilling without an Air lift takes patience aby paulofto - Main Forum
This past summers I had similar symptoms and it turned out the battery was too low to crank the engine or play the radio but enough power to light up the dash. Turns out the frunk was not 100% closed and after 3 days of not driving the battery drained. I put on a battery maintainer and after about 2 hours the car started on the first crank. No battery issues since. I also had a failing clutch swby paulofto - Main Forum
There are also these from RockAuto by Stoptech. Just installed on my 03 S this summer.by paulofto - Main Forum
QuoteBoxsterra If the battery can't provide enough voltage to the DME and immobilizer, it won't even try to turn the starter. I agree that there's an important distinction between clicking solenoid and no sound. I just went through something like this this a week ago. Apparently the interior light above the mirror was left on killing the battery over a few days of no driving. I went to start theby paulofto - Main Forum

Those are the what Porsche calls 'Stabilizer Mountings" according to the PET. Most call them drop links. There are 4, 2 front and 2 back and are the same front or back. The left is P/N 996 343 069 03 and the right 996 343 070 03 for 2000 to 2004 models. If you are replacing them you will need new nuts as well; 999 084 445 09 upper and 999 084 643 09 lower for each one. Torque the top one to 63 ftby paulofto - Main Forum
Would be nice if you could post a picture of what you are talking about but I don't see how you can do it on this forum. By chance does the item show on page 40-4 front suspension of the Bentley manual?by paulofto - Main Forum
Unreal! The driver has balls of steel! There isn't a soft barrier on the whole course so any over shooting a turn is abrupt and severe. Any doubts about the PDK are cleared up watching this. Fast and dead on accurate shifting. At that speed steering is a full time job until he hits the final straight and the downforce is all that keeps him from going airborne.by paulofto - Main Forum
Well I'm sorry to hear it isn't working for some of you. When it does work it produces a very nice COA style PDF with a list of options and codes plus the original retail selling price. production year & month and warranty start date. If I could figure out how to post an image on this forum I could show you how mine appears.by paulofto - Main Forum
The mileage on that site means nothing. How the heck would they know? Only you know what you have driven. Anyway try this site instead to see the PCNA info and options on your car; Do not just click on the link, copy and paste the link into your browser then change the VIN to yours. It will go to a certificate style options list that you can print or cancel the print and view it on screen. Iby paulofto - Main Forum

You may want to make 100% sure you have the correct MAF. They all look pretty much the same but their sensor characteristics have to be matched to you particular car. Like I said . . . I found it easier to drill a 1 3/4" hole in the plate below the drain plug rather than wrestle with the braces. This in no way compromises the integrity of the plate. It is under tension, not compression so there is no loss of strength. Many have questioned why Porsche didn't have a hole there to begin with.by paulofto - Main Forum
I found it easier to drill a 1 3/4" hole in the plate below the drain plug rather than wrestle with the braces. Many owners and Porsche Indies do this. And a good idea Is to remove the fill plug before draining the trans fluid. If you are 100% level the refill will take 3 litres less a couple of ounces. Using genuine Porsche fluid is also highly recommended. My local Porsche dealer sells it for ~by paulofto - Main Forum
Schumacher Battery Extender Charger/Maintainer — 6/12 Volt, 3 Amp, Model# SP3by paulofto - Main Forum
Get the Schumacher. Use the direct wire option and simply detach when you want to drive. Like I said 4 years ownership on 2 cars and they work flawlessly. And the price is right.by paulofto - Main Forum
I have 2 of the Schumacher units; one on my Boxster that sleeps for close to 5 months each winter and one I use on my DD if it sits for more than few days. A well charged battery is a must up here in the Great White North when the temps get sub sub zero. I bought both at Princess Auto which is kind of Canada's version of Harbor Freight. Price was about $60.00 CDN or about $45 US. Both have workedby paulofto - Main Forum
Ford did not take a bail out , voluntarily or forced. Period. The Ford family, with the only voting shares, refused to do it in fear of losing control of the company. Besides, they didn't really need it. Roger Mulally had returned them to profitability by 2007/2008 so the bail out was not needed or necessary. Double period. GM and Chrysler, on the other hand, were marketing a bunch of redundant dby paulofto - Main Forum
I have 2 of these Shumacher Battery Maintainers, one on my Boxster over winter and when not driven for several days during driving season, and another on my regular winter car if I don't drive it everyday or when it is predicated to be extremely cold out. I have the pig tails attached directly to the battery and disconnect/connect at the base of the windshield. More convenient than using the cigby paulofto - Main Forum
Not sure what work was done but if they did any coolant system work make sure the system is properly 'burped' and make sure the manual coolant vent under the oil/coolant cap housing cover is snapped down. It could be up allowing coolant to escape. That said I'll take odds that it is the coolant cap. The spring gets week with time and releases well below the pressure it is designed for. This presby paulofto - Main Forum
Grant nailed it . . . . . buy oil meeting the Porsche A40 spec when on sale, change it often (oil is cheap insurance), always drive till the car is hot. It really is that simple.by paulofto - Main Forum
Get the latest cap ending in '04' and make sure it is not cross threaded and is snuggly tightened. This issue has been discussed on the 986forum and many owners have confirmed that this simple fix solves the problem. Me included. And use the real Porsche coolant. In this case it is worth the cost.by paulofto - Main Forum

I have F1's on my '03 S and for normal touring they are the quietest and smoothest tires I have ever had. Grippy in dry & rain and wear very evenly but they are definitely not track tires.by paulofto - Main Forum
