The only modification I had to make was to fabricate a limit switch, which AFAIK is the only compatibility-relevant difference for a retrofit.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I've had good luck finding used OEM glass window tops by searching on car-part.com (2003, convertible top, sort by part grade, all areas → soft top, roof → search) You can get ones in very good condition for $6-800 and installation is quite straightforward (bolts right in). In terms of results for the $ this is the best option IMO. I can't remember which year they switched over to the new cby Boxsterra - Main Forum
If so, the problem is either a bad connection to the battery or a bad battery. Test the battery before replacing.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I have had no trouble using hose clamp pliers without the cable extension to change the AOS. I find the floppy extension wire awkward. It's also noting that the angle of approach for the tool without the extension is 90° off (you approach the clamp straight on, as opposed to on the side), which I personally find easier to manipulate in the tight space. Mine aren't this exact model but they're eby Boxsterra - Main Forum
I misread your comment and thought you said you didn't think it was well thought out. My error. Carry on.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

These are good questions. Here are my responses. 1) where do we get the electric from? The benefit of having cars run on electricity is that we can change and adapt where we get energy from. If a power plant builds a wind or solar farm, they can supplement (and eventually replace) their fossil fuel burning with that and the cars just get the benefit. I personally think we should use nuclear powby Boxsterra - Main Forum
Many of the numbers cited in the presentation are just plain wrong. The amount of CO2 required to produce a battery pack is off by a factor of 30x. The amount of mining required is off by a factor of 50x. All of this is a debate we should be having for sure but the realities aren't as bleak as he makes out to be.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
We just don't (yet) have the technology or the scale to make it happen. The idea is simple: if you create fuel from carbon you capture from the atmosphere AND you use renewable energy to turn that into combustible fuel THEN you have carbon-neutral fuel. In many developed countries, the price of renewable energy is already lower than the price of non-renewable energy. We can do this. The technoby Boxsterra - Main Forum

When the problem is the AOS, the intake gets coated with oil. Clean the intake, run it and see if the intake is coated. It's possible that your new AOS is bad. That's not common but it's easy to test.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

Fixed a loose starter cable by replacing the starter and putting the cable on correctly this time j/k Glad it's fixed and better than before.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
that the dash would inform you that the clutch switch circuit is discontinuous if the problem is the starter. Regardless, if the problem is the relay then you can verifying that by jumping the relayby Boxsterra - Main Forum
is that people who enjoy gas cars and people who enjoy electric cars don't need to fight each other. Each one has advantages and disadvantages, even in the sports card realm. On your point, state governments are trying to jumpstart the electric car industry but once electric cars are clearly cheaper and better for most people, mandates will be completely unnecessary. ♫ "My uncle has a countryby Boxsterra - Main Forum
The ones you're talking about surround the cats and they have clips that corrode. The solution there is to just replace the clips, nbd. The ones (I think) Grant is talking about are the ones that are forward of that. They are connected to the exhaust pipe with spot welds that break over time.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
They are about 16" long. I cannot tell you how many times they have come in handy.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
just crimp them to make them stop rattling. Ideally you would weld them but crimping seems to work just fine.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
There is only one motor mount, in the front center of the engine. The rear of the engine is bolted to the transmission, which has two transmission mounts. What specifically have you replaced and did you use stock parts? Also, do you only feel the vibration in the range of 1200 rpm? I'm not sure I understand your comment.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The 986 key fob has no protection from sideways force on the microswitches. Over time this can crack or break the solder joint. When you press the button it may be disconnecting and reconnecting many times. That won't stop the light from flashing but it will keep the car from unlocking. The solution is easy: reflow the joint. Also, sometimes the actual switch goes bad, which has the same symptomsby Boxsterra - Main Forum
