It is time to tackle this project so I can get my Boxter back on the road. All advice welcomeby Arena Red - Main Forum
I have had the plastic cup piece that screws onto the end of the V-Push Rod for the convertible top shatter twice (once on each side). The top is not binding at all and is easily opened and closed when the V-Rod is not attached. It is difficult to get leverage to snap the plastic piece onto the steel ball and I am unsure how best to line up the V Rod. Any advice on how to line up and attach thby Arena Red - Main Forum

I just replaced this radio with the original Porsche radio in my 98' Boxster. Model DEH-P4400; Super Tuner III; XM Ready. Installation manual included. Best offier and it is yours. Thanks, Danby Arena Red - Parts for Sale
Thanks to Pedros Board this project went smoothly. A few observations: - The one tensioner bolt is so long that I could not get it out without first bending the engine cover frame back a bit to give me clearance. - Local Porsche dealer had to order the parts and were $70 more than Pelican Parts online order, and Pelican delvered pronto. - Only the upper tensioner was shot but I replaced all threby Arena Red - Main Forum
What you are describing is exactly what I am referring to. I tried to send a PM but it does not appear to go thru. I would be interesed in the contact info for anyone selling just the red plastic part. Thanks, Danby Arena Red - Main Forum
Hi Mike, Let me know if this link works. Thanks.by Arena Red - Main Forum
I need to replace the red plastic fitting that screws onto the articulating arm for the convertible top that is right near the door. Anyone have the part #? Here is a photo.by Arena Red - Main Forum
..now I will order the belt and three pulleys...by Arena Red - Main Forum
I have two of the three pulleys off, but the tensioner pulley is a bit stubborn and I am not sure if I am turning the 24mm bolt the right way. Turn it clockwise or counterclockwise?by Arena Red - Main Forum
Is this as straight forward as it looks? Just unbolt each one and insert a new one or is there a more detailed procedure for removal/replacing? Since one idler is bad should I presume all will fail and replace all three? Thanks for the diagram and advice...very helpful. PS: I am also located in PA.by Arena Red - Main Forum
should the upper idler pulley be easy to turn by hand? It is frozen. The burnt debrs from the belt was at the base of this pulley. If this pulley is supposed to turn freely is the next step to pull this off and replace it? Thanks for the guidance. Dan M.by Arena Red - Main Forum
the top/middle, small pulley (is this the tensioner?) has burned rubber built up around it and the belt was stuck on the lower large pulley. I started the engine breifly and did not hear any distinct noises to identify if a particular pulley is causing the problem. Couple questions: - Where can I find a diagram of the belt routing? - Which pulleys should be able to be rotated by hand to help wiby Arena Red - Main Forum
I had been away from PPBB for quite some time and am glad to see Pedros Board is filling the void!by Arena Red - Main Forum
Just want to make sure there are no complications with this approach. Thanks for the advice. This will be my next project once it warms up a bit.by Arena Red - Main Forum
and no signs of any fluids leaking. I did have an AOS installed about 4 years ago. I will remove the engine cover to take a look. The latent smell also seems like it could be burning rubber or a belt. I replaced the main engine belt about 2 years ago. The smoke was pretty major as if the engine was on fire. Thanks for the advice and I will not be starting it up until I can make some more oby Arena Red - Main Forum
I heard a few high pitched noises from the engine the other day, but it ran fine. Let the Boxster idle today for 10 minutes and when I returned it had stalled out. When I re-started the engine immediately began smoking and had an electrical smell. I was able to pull into the garage and shut it down. What next?by Arena Red - Main Forum
