Not me, unfortunately. My opportunity was in 2015, when it was in Vermont - but I had just picked up the 986 and it was too late to go. I guess we'll have to wait until the next time the rotation brings it back east. I am considering the Hagerty Tour to Amelia/Werks Reunion in the spring, though.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Yeah, don't use the stock cup holders! The are poorly designed and poorly positioned right over your radio and HVAC units (where you don't want to spill anything), and won't securely hold most tall travel cups. I use Ultimate Cupholders in my 2003, which are adjustable and fit within easy reach and out of the way (they tuck up under the seam of the center console carpet. They cost more than otby grc0456 - Main Forum

Haha, I never saw this post, Stefan - but the Boxster gods brought me to stay in your hotel in Roanoke anyway and run into you! BTW, for future trips, I recommend this place as a good stop over. Tru by Hilton is a budget friendly ($82 with my Hilton Honors membership) chain that has everything you need for a one-nighter, but nothing that you don't - and is new and clean. I compared it to a curby grc0456 - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
My wife keeps a baseball cap and a sun hat, and I keep a few different baseball caps behind the seats at all times. We also keep a "sport" tube of spf45 in a small backback (along with a few other items such as a first aid kit) in the frunk. My worry is how much the sunscreen degrades in the heat?by grc0456 - Main Forum

Congratulations! There is no chance in hell that you won't be 100% sure you made the right decision the first time you fire it up and drive it.by grc0456 - Main Forum
It's at this time of year - at least in northern climes - that I find myself daydreaming often about BRBS with it's twisty roads and warm nights. I so look forward to it, all of it - even the 1,000 mile drive down from MA - and choosing our daily driving/sightseeing/dining activities. We'll miss Little Switzerland, but are looking forward to the new venue in northern GA. But, most of all, I loby grc0456 - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Registration is not open yet, but should be in the near future. The details will be on www.brbs.org. Event will have a new base location this year.by grc0456 - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Glad you had no damage, Pedro. This is my first winter using the Porsche/C-tec unit, and now I have something to worry about??? I hope not. I maintain through the cigarette lighter with the battery (Interstate) in the car. I go out in the garage every few days for other reasons and always look at the maintainer lights - all is fine, so far.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Ditto, Pedro. It's so hard to even imagine having nearly everything you worked for and owned simply be there one minute and be gone the next......and yet these people can be considered "lucky." I have a son in LA, who is safely away from the SoCal fires this year, but was very close last year....I am always worried when I see there are fires. Meanwhile, I wish I could direct some of the heavby grc0456 - Main Forum

Have a safe trip, Pedro. I hope the whole state is not on fire by then (my youngest son is in LA).by grc0456 - Main Forum
CURVEN8R looks great, as usual,G! It's getting to be foliage time in New England as well. I went on a nice 160 mile loop with my friend Tony (987S) last weekend out around Mt. Monadnock, NH in south central NH and things were definitely colorful there. Unfortunately, it was cloudy with some light rain that day and I took no pictures. Maybe my wife and I will go out tomorrow as the forecast loby grc0456 - Main Forum
Thanks, Pedro. Tightening those rear bolts did the trick. I wondered what they were for! The latch closes much easier, but I left it a bit on the tight side to keep it taut. The over-riding problem on the side frame was an easy fix, too. The top was purchased from Robbins in CA. They were bought several years ago by GAHH, and use their A5 Sonneland material. Unlike the OEM top with it's elaby grc0456 - Main Forum
Hi Pedro, I wonder if I need to tighten those 13mm nuts? I had a new top installed a few weeks ago. The installer said the top needed to stay closed for the first 7 days to stretch the canvas, which I did. And then I did again for 5 days or so. The top only comes within about an inch of the winsdscreen frame. It's slightly easier to close and latch since day 1, but is still a two handed opeby grc0456 - Main Forum

Nice. I have one on order. Original 15 y/o top not in bad shape, but glue has failed in rear under the window. DIY repairs were made, but it'll likely not hold up. Having a local shop do the work.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Can't wait! Looking forward to some western NC driving, and after doing some parade laps at Loudon a few weeks ago - excited to do the same at Charlotte.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Looks like we are down to 87 cars on the roster, a drop off of 18 from a few weeks ago The good news is there are likely some available rooms for anyone who wants to get in at the last minute.by grc0456 - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

QuotePedro (Weston, FL) ... I parked next to a midnight blue 986 at the Cathedral’s garage in Avignon and left my business card on the window hoping that the owner will chime in and say hi. Happy Boxstering Pedro At least you got to park next to the best color Happy Easter!by grc0456 - Main Forum
Nathan Merz was brought in by PCA to deliver a presentation at Tech Tactics East (great seeing you there, BTW) a few weeks ago that certainly seems to validate what you say, Pedro. He identified the 986/996 as cars that are starting to see steady increases in value in the Porsche Market (along with G-body 911, 964 manual coupe, the transaxle cars, 996/997 Turbo, and 914), and the 986/996 (alongby grc0456 - Main Forum
