If I were in the market for a Vette, I'd be shopping for a used one. Newest I'd consider would be a C7.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
good techniques for diagnosing both belt & pulley issues. What you're looking for on the belt likely shouldn't be glazing because the belt is ribbed & doesn't slip. Look for cracks on the business side of the belt, i.e. the inner ribbed side, indicating the rubber is getting fatigued.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum

waiting for it to fail, that's not a good course of action as such a failure could end up being catastrophic. Has your Boxster ever had its belt replaced? Now might be the time to replace the belt & also to replace the idler pulley, IMO.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
My scan there says one of the first, early indicators is a "hunting idle", or fluctuation in your idle - slight increases & decreases in engine RPM @ idle.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
And I have been wondering when I unplug my 2 Battery Tenders from their vehicles, if it hurts leaving them plugged in & their warning lights flashing. Also, is there any or much draw while they're in this state? My instinct tells me I shouldn't leave them that way & usually I don't, but when I do leave them, what's the harm, if any, & what's the cost? I see now, Laz. It would be adding injury to insult if one lost power & the event not only caused the charging to be interrupted, but also drained the battery.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
female outlet, rather than using alligator, or clip connectors direct to the battery. Much easier to connect & to disconnect for me & works great. The question I have is, why unplug the battery maintainer except when not in use? I don't see why I would ever unplug the maintainer while it's still connected to the vehicle. I referred to the 911 as a "Niner". Thinking about this afterwards, it came to me that Germans often refer to their or other peoples' 911s as "Elfers", the word "Elf" meaning eleven in German. Have y'all heard of these two familiarities before? I think I like Elfer best as there maybe is something elfin about Elfers.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum

Kinda makes me want to buy a sweater or two, don a pair of my desert boots, hop in that old Niner & look just like Steve McQueen . . .by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
to gain w/LED lights? Not sure it's worth it, but . . . I found this conversion kit & hope it's representative of what's out there. Assuming you will want to convert high & low beam bulbs on both sides, the cost here would be $139.99 (25 watt bulbs, 35 watt & 45 watt available for more) X 2 = $279.98 before sales tax, free 2-day shipping, lifetime warranty. You can also replace yoby John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
Not certain it will cure your problem, but I would do no more than lighlly spraying your key w/silicone spary lubricant & then inserting the key in & out of the switch a few times. Might help some until you're able to replace the switch, but I would not think of this as a cure.by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
right after we finished watching & before I could say it, Holly turned to me on the couch & told me she DEFINITELY wanted to watch Gran Turismo again. Has your wife ever driven @ speed on a race track? If not, that may be the difference. Holly has driven Hockenheimring, Nürburgring, & Autodrom Most (in Czech Republic). Holly's a beautiful driver, very smooth, relaxed & consisby John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
Xenon bulbs are readily available but one must find the exact type you're replacing. Recommend replacing bulbs in both headlights for 2 reasons: if one has burned out, the other isn't far behind failing. Replacing both will assure they both have the same appearance regarding light color. Wondering whether you sourced your conversion kit here from Pedro as I have done in Wolfi? If so, perhapsby John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
reminded me to recommend a surprisingly good movie called "Gran Turismo". It's a movie Holly & I watched on NETFLIX the other evening & it is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a video game racer who successfully became a real race car driver. The racing scenes are quite good, right in there w/LeMans movie. Here's a trailer: Here's a link to Mardenborough's Wiki: I saby John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum

When it's time for me to replace the LN Engineering open IMS bearing, I am definitely buying your complete system of Technofix DOF and IMS Bearing Kit. Another question, there is conflicting information on the LN Engineering site about how long their bearing lasts before it should be replaced. What mileage interval do you recommend before upgrading Wolfi to your complete system? To clarify, Iby John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
Which direct oil feed IMS fix do you use? LN Engineering's system or your own Technofix DOF plus your Technofix DOF IMS bearing kit? Also, can I simply install your Technofix DOF over my already converted LN Engineering IMS bearing kit or do you recommend installing your bearings instead?by John Brown of SE SoDak - Main Forum
wondering, Pedro, what kinds of preventive maintenance/replacements/repairs we need to be planning for & when between now & 200,000 miles. For example, cam chain tensioners/shoes, etc. As of now, I know I will replace & upgrade the first generation LN Engineering IMS @ 140,000 w/an oil-fed one.
