After 11 years with three manual Porsches (2001 986, 2003 996, 2008 987), I bought a 997.2 C2 CPO PDK a couple years ago. I read a lot about the PDK and drove a few cars before making the leap. I was pretty geeked out (!) about the technology which is mostly why I bought it, for the same reason I changed Porsches previously, to have a different driving experience. The car I bought did not haveby MarkinMD - Main Forum

I'm betting it would be as efficient and more fun to drive than a 911 hybrid hauling around 300 pounds of batteries and other hardware.by MarkinMD - Main Forum
My 2001 was delivered on P-Zeros. I found them to be very grippy in the dry, but a little twitchy in the wet. I had a rear wheel alignment problem that caused my P-Zeros to get very loud even though they were only half worn. So they got replaced sooner than they should have. The PS2 is the best all around performance tire I have driven and I plan to keep using them, or the new Michelin Pilot Sby MarkinMD - Main Forum

If I can't order one of each to go with the 918 Spyder, why bother!by MarkinMD - Main Forum
Before I ordered my Cayman, I test drove two Caymans (Caymen?) back to back on the same roads. One car had PASM and the other had the base suspension, both were on 18" wheels. In the "normal" setting, the PASM-equipped car felt about the same as the car with the base suspension. In the "Sport" setting the car was very firm. Firm enough to the point I felt it offered no value to me, as I boughby MarkinMD - Main Forum
I had Bridgestone S02a's on my Boxster and C4S and I always thought they were a decent all around tire, but the PS2s outshine them in every way. I think the PS2 is the best all around performance tire I have driven. They ride great, grip great and breakaway progressively. After nearly 14K miles on the set of 17's that was delivered on my Cayman, the rears still have a few thousand miles left onby MarkinMD - Main Forum
Pedro is right. My Cayman is certainly louder than my earlier C4S or Boxster. The engine noise bounces off the glass in the hatch which makes for a louder passenger compartment. Also there is some slight vertical motion in the Cayman's rear hatch (bouncing on the weatherstrip, for lack of a better description). It is not bad, but it is enough to feel the pressure change in my ears over largeby MarkinMD - Main Forum

The Top Gear UK "Christmas Special" featured a trip by Clarkson, Hammond and May to the East Coast of the US. They start their trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway with a GT3 RS, a Merc SLS and a 458 Italia. Perfect cars for The Parkway, right?!? You can see it here... Seriously though, I like my HTC Driod Incredible. Had if for a few months now. Once I got the optional 2150 mAh battery, and the Froyo upgrade, I have no major complaints. I just got the video cable so I can plug it into a TV and play video. The picture is a little jerky with fast motion like Top Gear, but documents are clear and easy to read.by MarkinMD - Main Forum
This video is targeted at the U.K. audience where every episode of Top Gear or Fifth Gear has at least one car driven in the "tail out" style. I find it great fun to watch and would like to be able to exercise that level of car control. That said, it is still far more satisfying to complete the perfect lap, than the dirty lap.by MarkinMD - Main Forum
I saw an interview of the three presenters that was made after shooting of the first season was finished. They seemed to get along pretty well. I hope we see more of that in coming episodes. They will never match the original UK team, but wisely they are not trying to do that. We already knew that Tanner Faust is good at car control and we see some more of it here. That was probably the best paby MarkinMD - Main Forum
The Porsche "basic" battery maintainer that I bought from Suncoast (no affiliation, just a satisfied customer). Search for "Battery Maintainer" or the part number 98061198100. It is $49 at: www.suncoastparts.com I top off the battery with distilled water twice each year. I like to believe that also helps the battery last longer.by MarkinMD - Main Forum
It is encouraging that some dealers are open minded. I spoke with one dealer in the Baltimore area (I forget which one) who would not even install genuine Porsche parts that came from any source other than their own parts counter. They only offered the 10% PCA discount on parts, which is nowhere near competitive with Suncoast's pricing. You would think they would be happy to have the labor reveby MarkinMD - Main Forum

Sounds like you dodged a bullet, Al. Three questions... 1. How many miles were on the engine? 2. Did they have any idea of how many more miles before the IMS would have experience a catastrophic failure? 3. I am surprised a dealer would install non-OEM parts. Did you have to twist any arms to get them to use the LN parts/tools?by MarkinMD - Main Forum
