Quotel3m Hey Griff, Have you checked your exhaust brackets recently? Mine broke off from the exhaust. Brought it to a muffler shop and they welded a new bracket with rubber bushings to absorb the vibrations. Love the sound of this exhaust. CROSS doesn't make 'em anymore/ Just noticed this post. I haven't checked my brackets but just had the IMS changed and the Porsche dealer never mentioby Griff 03s - Main Forum
QuoteBoxsterra The bearing wears fairly linearly until just before it fails. So unless there is a bunch of play in the bearing you weren't really at risk. What I was saying was the seals looked good and tight. I didn't see anything wrong but there was a little play and that's probably how the oil got in and the grease came out. Maybe I wasn't at risk, but if it should be filled with grease andby Griff 03s - Main Forum
Just had my IMS replaced with an LN and was looking at the old one. It looked brand new, no cracks in the seals and tight. It did seem like motor oil was seeping out. Removed one of the seals and it was completely empty except for some motor oil. So much for being packed with grease. Good thing motor oil had seeped in. I believe I dodged the bullet. Forgot to mention it's an 03S with 46,00by Griff 03s - Main Forum
I have an 03 Boxster S and trying to decide whether to upgrade to 911, a new boxster, or just keep what I have. My neighbor wants to buy the 03S so moving it won't be a problem. I like the 03's simple interior with the GT3 console delete, no fluff there, and those wheels. Well, while I decide the car goes in Monday for an IMS LN bearing replacement. It is fun looking...by Griff 03s - Main Forum

I'm am thinking about keeping it. My wife is more freaked about the IMS than I am. Does anybody know where I could get the IMS bearing done around Pittsburgh PA?by Griff 03s - Main Forum
I have an 03S with 50k miles. Debating whether to upgrade to a 911, another boxster, or get the IMS replaced and keep it. My wife wants the 911 and I'm just not sure, still looking. Just finished waxing it and I still love the way it looks and drives. Here's a couple pics I just took in the garage.by Griff 03s - Main Forum
Back in early May I installed a Cross exhaust on my 03S and now I'm back to report that I love it even more. The biggest problem with an aftermarket exhaust is the resonance that goes along with louder pipes. Well, not with this Cross system. I believe there are two reasons for this, one being they are not overly loud and two and most important is the longer length of pipe that is used on thisby Griff 03s - Main Forum

Seat of the pants seems way better, but who knows. There is still one on the bay, I'm the one that bought the other.by Griff 03s - Main Forum
Time for an exhaust change so I went with the JIC-Magic / CROSS exhaust. Just to clear the air, I have no affiliation with Cross or their exhausts. Took about an hour start to finish and was the easiest exhaust installation I have done. I purchased the exhaust off that auction site, and it wasn't cheap, but I liked how the pipes looked and there length. I really didn't know how they would souby Griff 03s - Main Forum
On my 03 S I have Gemballa Competition Wheels 18X8 up front with 225/40 18's and on the rear I have 18X10 with 265/35 18's. They have a wider stance without spacers......by Griff 03s - Main Forum
