A while back I made a series of recordings putting an external mic in various locations. It was a while ago and I never ended up installing it but IIRC one of the best places for a mic is the factory location (just to the left of the cluster). I was testing with a small standalone microphone (similar to a lapel clip-on) so it would actually fit inside the stock microphone tube. Perhaps you couldby Boxsterra - Main Forum
If you happen to purchase your tires from Tire Rack, please use the sponsor link at the top of the forum list. It helps pay for server costs for this forum and doesn't add any cost to you. Thanks!by Boxsterra - Main Forum
It sounds like the unit you got might be an Aux out adapter but I'd have to see it. Do you have a link or picture? Also, when you say RCA I think you're referring to 3.5mm.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Sometimes I take a rubber mallet and bang on the exhaust system to check for rattles and clanks. It doesn't always find it but it's easy to try.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
If the driver door lock doesn't open with the key in the lock then there must be a mechanical problem in the door. I see that OP updated with this diagnosis. This can sometimes be fixed without parts if the pin that connects the lock to the latch has fallen out. But you do need access to the inside of the door to do that.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
In your picture, it's not the heater that is pegged. It looks like it's the voltage (in mV) on the O₂ sensor(s) output. If you have a problem that reproducible, diagnosis shouldn't be difficult. I would start by checking the sensor wiring, which has multiple parts (DME to X5/9 connector in trunk, X5/9 connector to sensor). Also, the connector itself can get wonky so I would make sure none of tby Boxsterra - Main Forum
There's a part from McMaster Carr that can replace the headlight rubber trim. It has been on my list for years. See here:by Boxsterra - Main Forum

After having the Litronic retrofit bulbs for about 20 years one of them went out for me. I bought a cheap pair of replacements from Amazon for $22 and they were just as good as the old ones as far as I could tell (they were actually brighter than the remaining one but I attributed that to its age). So I bought another pair in case they didn't last. It has been 4 years and they're both still fine.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The first step, as Pedro said, is to make sure that the headlight bulb is actually lit and you're not seeing the parking bulb, which is a dimmer bulb. After that... The heat of the headlight can cause the power or ground wires to weaken and fray, resulting in reduced power or intermittent connections. I would pull out the light, pop off the back cap, and take a look at the wiring to see if thereby Boxsterra - Main Forum
QuoteTony in Whittier "If I removed my OEM ignition switch (2000 Boxster S) and replaced it with 4B0-905-849 (new part - white housing), will it work?" No, it will not work, assuming by "OEM" you mean "original". The updated parts are all OEM. Both components (mechanical and electrical) of the ignition were upgraded to improve their design. The old revisions are not compatible with the new ones. For the electrical portion the housing on the older OEM version is black and the newer version is white. Note that it's the outer housing that differs in color. The back part with the tabs is always black. 4A0-905-849B - original part - blackby Boxsterra - Main Forum
I saw the tire tests where the Sport 2 did extremely well compared to the competition and the average ratings are top notch. It's good to hear it's not just my imagination.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

but the Super Sport tires are actually guaranteed for 30k miles, believe it or not.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The outgoing tires were Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/45ZR-17 and they went 31,646 miles in 8 years & 4 months. The incoming tires are Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 size 205/50ZR-17. I am impressed at how long the outgoing tires lasted. Does anyone here have any long-term experience with the Continentals? They got good ratings and they seem very competent so far (though I haven't puby Boxsterra - Main Forum

The only modification I had to make was to fabricate a limit switch, which AFAIK is the only compatibility-relevant difference for a retrofit.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I've had good luck finding used OEM glass window tops by searching on car-part.com (2003, convertible top, sort by part grade, all areas → soft top, roof → search) You can get ones in very good condition for $6-800 and installation is quite straightforward (bolts right in). In terms of results for the $ this is the best option IMO. I can't remember which year they switched over to the new cby Boxsterra - Main Forum
If so, the problem is either a bad connection to the battery or a bad battery. Test the battery before replacing.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I have had no trouble using hose clamp pliers without the cable extension to change the AOS. I find the floppy extension wire awkward. It's also noting that the angle of approach for the tool without the extension is 90° off (you approach the clamp straight on, as opposed to on the side), which I personally find easier to manipulate in the tight space. Mine aren't this exact model but they're eby Boxsterra - Main Forum
