QuoteMikenOH An engine tear-down will be on your nickle and will be expensive; given the time involved here, the dealer has decided they aren't going to help you at all. Time for registered letter--probably from a lawyer-- to get their attention. Not 'probably'... it needs to be from a lawyer.by Tcar - Main Forum

Quoteboxtaboy QuoteTcar QuoteMarcW ... who cares about the darn sound? So it sounds like a Subie or even, gasp, an air-cooled VW engine? Subaru sells a ton of cars, numbers that I'm sure Porsche would kill for... Kill for? That's just nonsense. No way does Porsche want to sell hundreds of thousands of low budget cars. QuoteGuenter in Ontario I wonder if at some point they'll have to try to add an intercooler for people that drive them on the track (IF they have room to fit one in somehow.) . The 718 DOES have an intercooler. Air to liquid.by Tcar - Main Forum
The new thinking is a car with a velcro-like surface on the hood to hold the pedestrian there. Many are injured seriously by being thrown off the hood onto the ground.. Thsi works only a low to moderate speeds.by Tcar - Main Forum
I don't know about 'brilliance' but lead oxide is white. It affected colors that had a white base the most. Nothing to do with the metallic content.by Tcar - Main Forum
No apostrophe in turbos. You can get good mileage if you drive conservatively... but who does that?by Tcar - Main Forum
Saw a craigslist ad for a '968 BUSTER'. In the verbage below it was a 'BUKSTER'.by Tcar - Main Forum
That car was featured in Panorama last year... looks like the same one. Widened the KG body 6", as I recall. Very well done.by Tcar - Main Forum
Quotefrogster "The dealers told Veldhuijzen that the car actually sustained minimal damage (another big rear-engine advantage, people: much better recovery from rolling forwards into a lake) and the car will be prepared for delivery." ouch! if that were my car there's no way i would accept it. i wonder if the owner will even know about this. i'm guessing that with social media et al that he willby Tcar - Main Forum
Quotedb997S For many, the Boxster is not an affordable car. So, I think of it in terms of lottery cars, what would you buy or not buy if you hit a nine-figure jackpot? Would the C-GT fit into your plans then? With that kind of cash, practicality and affordability are not an issue because you'd have much more garage space to justify an impractical vehicle purchase. That being said, it wouldn'tby Tcar - Main Forum
I think the C-GT is butt-ugly. Looks like a modified Chevy El Camino from the side. A mess of pieces glued on. The 918 Spyder if gorgeous. IMO. Prior to 1976 there was no galvanizing on the bodies. Rust was a given.by Tcar - Main Forum
48 out of 48 here. I owned a couple of those many years ago.by Tcar - Main Forum

QuoteGuenter in Ontario I've never tried to see what happens if the "hill hold" feature is engaged and if you were to turn off the engine. I imagine the brake would stay engaged. I've just got into the habit of turning off the engine, engaging the parking brake, releasing the brakes and then leaving the transmission in 1st gear. That probably comes from years of driving front wheel drive cars, iby Tcar - Main Forum
Quotedennisafrompa HMMM, I was a Herc navigator for many years. What a versatile machine! I have you beat. I was a Peugeot driver for many years.by Tcar - Main Forum
