I miss (1) the old gang and the interesting debates (2) my Boxster S and (3) the big meetings in Vegas in 2000 and for a year or two after that. I really miss Chuck of course. Life changes. My career has moved on and I'm busier now. Not sure it's wholly good, but that's often what happens when we get older! Good to see that so many friendly helpful people still exist here. Thanks to all.by Howard in London - Main Forum
I have precisely the same issue with my 2008 997 Turbo - the failure is intermittent. The dealer said that he couldn't reproduce it, but it happens very frequently. I suspect something strange like a bulb is playing up or there's a faulty connection somewhere, rather than the temperature sensor is failing. I have had strange error messages on my console in the past when a rear brake bulb is aboby Howard in London - Main Forum
My dealer could do nothing except continue to recommend that the PCM unit is replaced with a serviceable, used, replacement unit. When I rebooted the unit the bug remained. I think I'll live with it. I don't fancy spending £1,800 for a replacement. Pity. Howard p.s. thanks very much everyoneby Howard in London - Main Forum
Thanks everyone. My car is at the dealer for a service at the moment. I'll ask him to look at this again with these comments and report back when the car comes out of service.by Howard in London - Main Forum

Hi Guenter, I have private pilot's licence and a 26 year old plane (TB20). I try to spend as much time as possible in the air. The link below might work - a YouTube video of me flying in Scotland Flying into Oban, Scotland.by Howard in London - Main Forum
Hey Pedro, thanks for your reply. The flying is fun, but the British weather keeps me on the ground far too much. I need to move to a sunnier part of the world.... I'm glad this place is still going strong. About my PCM unit - what is involved with a reset and re-program? What do I tell the dealer to do exactly? They probably need to be told very carefully. My car's PCM unit is showing strange memory anomalies and the dealer simply says "you need a new unit" which I think is a cop-out and I really hope the unit can be fixed. The unit works perfectly (including navigation) except: 1. It always thinks it's summer time (adds one hour): When I go into PCM Settings to untick summer time, the car's clock clicks back one hour and is the time is fine foby Howard in London - Main Forum
Ok, I give in. I can't get the public picture from facebook to work here except via the link aboveby Howard in London - Main Forum
I've had mine for two years now and still get an incredible buzz from it. The Boxster is a great car too. They're different and both are wonderful. The 997 Turbo is just so insanely fastby Howard in London - Main Forum
