for advice as to what service is really required so I did not have to pay the dealer $1,000 for a major service. Bob.by Bob D - Main Forum
I have a 2008 Cayman S purchased in January 2009. Car is in great condition and runs perfectly. I have changed the oil and filter every six months, have had two minor maintenance services and due for a major service. Car is out of warranty. What service do you recommend I have done by dealer in addition to my regular oil change. I have 25,000 miles on car. Thanks, Bob.by Bob D - Main Forum
responsive - plenty of power. You would never know it has 4 cylinders. The interior is very well laid out, plenty of room (more than my Daughters 2008 335). Very impressed. Bobby Bob D - Main Forum
I test drove the BMW 328 i and the car drives and handles great - not a Porsche, but unless your on the track it has the power and handling you need. The finish and engineering is outstanding. My Daughter previously had a 2008 BMW 335xi. The steering on the 328 is not as tight as the 335, but not loose either. We were going to buy another 335, but all you need now with the new engine is the 328 -by Bob D - Main Forum
to test drive a Volvo for my Daughter and there was a 2013 red Boxster S on the lot. The car is absolutely beautiful. I parked my 2008 red Cayman S next to it and it appeared that the new guards red Boxster was a shade darker than mine. My Daughter picks up her 2012 BMW 328i this morning. Also a beautiful car. My last oil change on my 2008 Cayman S was in April 2011. I have only driven 2200 miles since then ( 8 months) and question should I change oil and filter now or wait until April 2012 as Porsche recommends. Thanks, Bob.by Bob D - Main Forum
Looking for 4 new tires for 2008 Cayman S and wondering if price differential between subject tires is worth it. Since I have 19 inch wheels ride comfort as well as handling are most important to me. Has anyone used either of these tires? Any input is appreciated. Bob.by Bob D - Main Forum
265/35 ZR19 (94Y) Sport Contact 2 tires on the rear and like tires on front. I have 14,000 miles on my 2008 Cayman S and will need rear tires soon. Can I put a tire from a different manufacturer on the rear and keep my existing front Continental's? Have about 5K more miles to go on fronts. Also I would like to soften the ride a bit - any tires you recommend? Thanks, Bob.by Bob D - Main Forum
I have a 2008 Cayman S purchased in January 2009 which had 900 miles on it. My in service date is January 2009 as vehicle was never titled (General Manager's vehicle). I have 12,000 miles on it and question what service I should have done. I have been changing the oil and filter every 6 - 9 months accumulating about 3,000 miles at each change. I will change the oil and filter (have 4,000 miles siby Bob D - Main Forum

classroom, auto cross course in a Boxster ( see how fast you can go without hitting the cones), training on how not to skid on wet pavement on a figure 8 course with a Carrera S, and mostly driving a Carrera S or a Cayman S on the race track learning the key entry and exit points maneuvering around turns and the dynamics of using your brakes for weight transfer assisting in turns. Also great BBQby Bob D - Main Forum

Birmingham Al at the Barber race track. Drove a Carrera S, Cayman S, and a Boxster. I own a 2008 Cayman S so I wanted to drive it on the track and see how it handled compared to the others. Result is that they all handled great. I was surprised how good the Carrera handled compared to the mid - engine Cayman and Boxster. The PDQ automatic transmission was great. with my son in Birmingham, AL. I own a 2008 Cayman S so would like to drive other models but still would like to drive the Cayman at the track to learn more about the car's abilities. Any advice from those who have attended one of these schools? Tips on good local restaurants? Thanks, Bob.by Bob D - Main Forum
