Agree. Mine is also on a lowered car that gets both street and track use. No issues whatsoever.by Rob in CO - Main Forum

That's pretty good for stock setup and should be nice and comfortable on the road. I just had mine aligned, after some modifications, and I am at -2.8 front and -2.3 rear camber. Mine is a street/track car, though and I would stay about where you are for a street car.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
I do stands now because I invested in a really good low profile jack and can get the car up very quickly. I have used ramps many times in the past, though with no problems.by Rob in CO - Main Forum

Once I am finally done with repairing/re-engineering the power steering system, it will be time for the winter oil change and I am considering the Techno Sump. My car is track/street driven but not a daily driver. Does the amount of drop put the oil pan in harms way? Thanks.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
Helmet is very helpful with tree branches, less so if you screw up badly enough to hit a trunk, even less effective with a nasty hit on a rock or lift tower. Bad things can still happen even when you are well-prepared. Those of us who choose to ski off-trail in more gnarly terrain take a calculated risk doing so. I am sure he understood what he was doing. I hope he comes out of it OK. I enby Rob in CO - Main Forum
Thanks much. I will give it a try (gently).by Rob in CO - Main Forum
I have exposed the back of the pump and my leak is clearly where the line exits the pump. O ring is visible and line moves around way too easily. Do I replace just the plastic fitting or does it have to be the whole line? Any clues about how to remove? Most of the online posts posts mention that it is a pain in the a** (which I do not doubt) but detailed procedures seem scarce. Thanks. Oncby Rob in CO - Main Forum
I drive it year round but rarely under 40F and a lot of 90+ including track use in the summer. Thus, I opt for 10-40 year round and change once a year in the Fall. When I first bought the car 10 years ago, I used 0-W40 and never had an issue. Mine does not burn much oil regardless of weight so the change to heavier was just based on my preference. Grant is correct....keep it full and reasonabby Rob in CO - Main Forum
I agree that it is totally unnecessary on a street car but the pulley/pump combination is engineered to provide adequate pressure, etc. at "normal" revs. Based on my little bit or research, in the case of Boxsters/Caymans, the combination of very hot location on top of the engine in a closed area and higher sustained revs under track conditions puts additional pressure on the PS system and someby Rob in CO - Main Forum
I nursed the leak through the DE season with a couple of fluid top offs but will bust a few knuckles and fix it over the winter. I am pretty sure it is one of the hoses on the pump and not at the rack. Anyway, I plan to do the underdrive pulley and am also considering the LN inline PS fluid cooler. Is that worthwhile or overkill?by Rob in CO - Main Forum
Take it to the dealer and tell them what happened. My local here cleared the code for free and it has not come back on. It is unlikely that you actually did anything to the airbag system just working with the seat.by Rob in CO - Main Forum

I did not find that octane changed the mileage much but once I got west and ran into oxygenated fuels again, the mileage drop was noticeable.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
You have to find the source of the leak. My guess is water pump if that has never been replaced. If there were not coolant on the bottom of the engine, I would suspect the tank itself as they are prone to cracking (and a PIA to change.) I would take the engine covers off (behind seats), fill the tank back up with water and run it very briefly to see if you can spot the leak. Water pump, thermby Rob in CO - Main Forum
Not exactly mainstream media but the first I recall seeing it even mentioned outside of Porsche-specific publications.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
Other than an occasional small leak between a window and the top, no issues. I only do the basic wash and no extra wax or coatings though. Not sure the top fabric would appreciate those.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
Sounds a bit like one of those silly electronic toilets with the power seat and other features.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
I wear a long sleeve shirt to cut down on arm scrapes. Wheel off and find an angle through the suspension that works. I put a box wrench on it before the drain tube and make little turns. Per Pedro's suggestion, when I do it in the spring I am going to take the bleed nipple all the way off and replace with a brake line and then put the nipple on the end of that. No more pain.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
If it spins freely and quietly, leave it alone. Mine had a tiny bit of wobble in the shaft when I did it at about 65K but was nowhere near failure. I was doing other stuff in the area so decided to change it but would not have otherwise.by Rob in CO - Main Forum

Very sorry. I hope the end was peaceful. We had to put ours down at just over 16 years old. It was time but doesn't make it any less sad.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
Different brands fit better on certain size heads. I had a Shoei in the distant past but have bought only Arai's for the last 15 years. Anything with the Snell rating is acceptable but buying without trying on is risky. Open vs. full face is a personal decision. I go full face because I also ride a motorcycle and like the option of using either helmet (I have an older one primarily for the biby Rob in CO - Main Forum
I was born, raised and learned to drive in NJ. Good for them if they actually write that many tickets for it. It is also the law here in CO but I doubt more than a few people have ever actually been ticketed for hogging. It is a major problem on I-70 in the mountains. Sadly, it would take at least a generation to instill decent lane discipline in this country.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
2012 Nissan Titan shares DD duty with the Boxster and tows it to the track. 2007 Honda 919 motorcycle. 2011 VW Tiguan. Technically hers but I have more than a few miles at the wheel. Overly gadgeted for my taste but a decent little ride overall.by Rob in CO - Main Forum
It's not that bad with a good socket set and extensions. Hit the bolts with some sort of spray cleaner before you start because they will probably be filthy, which makes it harder to get a good grip with the hex head. Also, if you don't have a set of snap ring pliers, buy them now. I ended up making a shopping trip for them in the middle of the job. My two cents....the boot kits are cheap and the job overall is a bit of a knuckle-buster at times so if I would do inner and outer regardless. Getting the half shafts off of the tranny is relatively easy once you get a good position for your wrench and extension. Also, I would not want to do the boot replacement with the shafts on the car. I made a clamping jig by screwing some scrap wood to aby Rob in CO - Main Forum
