Thanks to the Board and an excellent DIY from Pedro (my friends are stunned when I show them the information available about this car and the community of support...well, they are stunned that I actually do anything to this car given my limited mechanical knowledge and I have to fess up and tell them how much help is available in the commuby cld3316 - Main Forum
Well I did the installation this morning and it was pretty much a piece of cake once I squeezed into the car. Jeweler's screwdriver worked perfectly. Hardest part was getting a hand up there to loosen the screws. As soon as I replaced the switch, the key moved exactly as it is supposed to. I never would have believed that it was this switch based on the 'symptoms' I was experiencing. Thanks to evby cld3316 - Main Forum
Thanks for the input. I am going to replace the electronic part first and see what happens. Just to provide some information, I called the dealer (they are both Audi and Porsche) and gave the Audi part number and was given a price of $49.95. The dealer is about 75 miles from me so I ordered from Pelican for $11 and also got a serpentine belt and oil filter and 1 day shipping and it will still beby cld3316 - Main Forum
I have a 2002 Boxster and am having problems with the key and ignition. This just started happening and I have had no previous problems. What is happening is that the key is difficult to get in the ignition. Once I get it in and begin to turn it, it seems to be under a spring pressure and turns to the right. It doesn't turn far enough by itself to start the car. When I shut the car off, it is difby cld3316 - Main Forum

I noticed an unusual development the other day when I opened the passenger door from the outside with the top up - the window did not go down the little bit it is supposed to when I pulled the handle and only went down after I opened the door. When I pull on the handle inside the car, the window goes down a bit as normal before the door opens. I would like to get this taken care of to avoid damagby cld3316 - Main Forum
