Thank you all, for your comments and advice, Just to clarify, it's not that I'm looking to sell for 12,500, but rather I feel i sold for too little at 12,500. The car is sold, and I was having seller's remorse that I sold too low. But judging by your comments, I'm now feeling that I got a pretty good deal. Thanksby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you so much Pedro. My first good advice came from yourself on my car's first day. I trust its the same great advice on its last day!!! From Happy Boxstering to Happy Benzing Brascoby Brasco - Main Forum
Hello I'm thinking of Selling my 98 Boxster 73000 miles. I'm worried about SELLERS remorse. Do you think selling at $12,500.00 is a good deal from a Sellers perspective? Or is it too LOW? Appreciate your comments!! Thanksby Brasco - Main Forum
Hello, would anyone here have a spare non working radio? My Boxster 98 is missing a tiny square push botton, controling one of the preset stations. Measures about 1/4" x 1/2". Seems to have Porsche CDR-210 on face plate. Believe it or not Porsche is asking $25 for it. There are 10 preset controls on radio. No wonder these radios are so expensive . $250.00 for 10 tiny caps. Thank youby Brasco - Main Forum
The last time I heard a rattle, ended up being the water pump! Good luckby Brasco - Main Forum
Hello Boxsterra, can you tell me how you get your navigation from a stock radio. When I have the top down, I neither see my screen due to the sunlight, or hear it due to the wind, and traffic noise. It would be great if the navigation voice would blast out of my radio speakers.by Brasco - Main Forum
I was looking in the archives posted by Boxsterra on April 18,2011, 7:30pm. It says...... When it is flashing it means the coolant reservoir is low or the engine cooling fan is not working. When it is solid, its overheating. Hope this helps.by Brasco - Main Forum
I had the exact same thing happen to me about 2 months ago. Light was flashing after a cold morning start, so I knew for sure it was not over-heated. Temp was at lowest position, at the time that light was flashing. So over heating was ruled out. This went on for days, sometimes light flashed, and sometimes normal. Although fluid level seemed good, I added about 1/2 quart to it, and light does noby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you Pedro! I did not realize that by lifting the front, the back would also lift. I'll give it a try. Regardsby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you Bob ! Exactly what I was looking for!! Regardsby Brasco - Main Forum
Is there anyone who has a picture of where a boxster can be jacked up. Im looking to raise the rear, to remove both rear wheels, and keep them off for a few days. I'm hoping there is a specific place in the rear middle. Thank youby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you for your input and expertise Marc. Listening to the opinions here, I feel that, I'd be protected with M1 10W-40 .I don't feel I need the 0W or 5W seeing that cold driving is not a factor.by Brasco - Main Forum
Thanks Grant. Sorry I had not seen your posting. Can you tell me what the HM is, when you refer to the M1 10W-40.by Brasco - Main Forum
Seeing that I no longer can find Mobil1 15W-50 (5 quart Jug) at any Wal-Mart down the East Coast, I'm wondering if Mobile1 10W-40 will protect just as well? I do not put car on track, drive car only in Spring and summer months, from May to September or from 60 degrees to 95 degrees. Boxster is a 98 with 65,000K. Thank youby Brasco - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro, I think your right. I just contacted a manager, he said that its mainly sold in the more southern States. I'm out of luck up here. It is not even available as a special order.by Brasco - Main Forum
Hello I’ve been looking to purchase Mobil1 15W-50 for the passed three weeks without much luck. For the past five years all the Wal-Marts in upstate N.Y. and New England carried the 5qt. Jugs for a decent price of $28.00. They don’t carry it any longer, and will not even ship from store to store, (new policy). Auto parts sell the 1 qt. for about $8.00 or equivalent of $40.00 for 5qt. Has anyoby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you so much db997s! That is very good info to have. I'll be seeing my dealer for that Regardsby Brasco - Main Forum
Hello is there a setting that makes doors lock automatically at 5mph? Is my 98 Boxster equipped with that feature? Thanksby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you for the link Laz, much appriciated !by Brasco - Main Forum
Hello Grant I'm driving a Boxster 98. It just that I've always used the M1 15w-50. Never had an engine issue. Just a creature of habit I guess. Only drive car in over 70 degree temps. Garage rest of time. If I knew for sure that another oil be just as good, I'd stop searching m1 15w-50 in 5 quart jugs. One of my other reasons for using this, is that Pedro uses the same, on same model. Thanks forby Brasco - Main Forum
Hello, I'm still not having success in finding 5 quart jugs of M1 15W-50, I've tried the auto parts and Walmart. Walmart does not agree to ship to closest store any more. They consider this a hazardous product and cannot be shipped. If anyone knows of a location in Plattsburgh N.Y or Burlington VT where this can be found. Regardsby Brasco - Main Forum
Yes thanks Grant. It is M1 15w-50 . I store car in winter. I'll have to keep following Pedros great advice! Thanks Pedro.by Brasco - Main Forum
Hello, in the past years, I've been able to purchase Mobil oil 20W-50 at Walmart for $27.00 (5 quart) For some unknown reason, Walmart in Vermont, or Plattsburgh N.Y. does not stock it any longer. Is anyone familiar with who might carry it in these areas, or online? Thank youby Brasco - Main Forum
Hello Folks, wondering if you can help? Every time I start Boxster 98 on a cold start, temperature gage is at minimum of course, but light of overheating keeps flashing. Light only stops flashing once I restart the vehicle. Has anyone ever encounter this problem? Thanksby Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you JFP. Good information I will do a load test as soon as I get a chance. For the time being I purchased a battery maintainer and will avoid discharge. I also noticed that at the present time, about 24 hrs later, my multimeter gives me a steady reading of 12.50. Does not seem to be draining as it was when fully charged to 13+. short of having the load test done, I assume it is looking gooby Brasco - Main Forum
After keeping my car in storage for 3 months, I decided to check on battery status. It was anywhere from dead to drained! I put a slow charge on overnight, and to my knowledge it is now fully charged. My concern is as follows: With battery fully charged, I put a OHM meter to it and get a reading of 13.55. As I keep the meter on it, I see the numbers drop about a tenth of a digit every 3 seconds.by Brasco - Main Forum
Thank you Master Pedro, best wishes!by Brasco - Main Forum
Hi all, when charging a battery, is it best to disconnect battery from car, or is it ok to charge while still connected to the car. Just looking to see if there is a recommended standard. Thank youby Brasco - Main Forum
