Thanks - They wiggle around freely. I would hold one and tap with the rubber mallet and stop the noise. It's the kind of thing where if it were anywhere else, it'd be a snap to wedge something in and stop it - but not with a red-hot exhaust pipe. Two corrections from my original post (wish I could edit): - there are three camlock bolts on each Cat heat sheilds, not two - When I said these loosby Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum
LOL - I would've crapped my pants. One time I was going over a pass in Colorado during a snow storm in a rental car when it broke free and went into a spin. My brother-in-law was in a car behind me and I watched him pass right by as I was doing a 360, completely out of control. But when I got back to my original direction, I was okay and just kept going, although now I was behind my brother-inby Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum
What John said - get a small bottle of Permatex Anti-Seize. It doesn't take much at all - it'll probably last you the rest of your life. You only need to put it on the areas where the wheel and the rotor contact, plus a tiny little bit on the bolts. I was changing out my wheels yesterday (winter to summer) and for a minute there I thought the first bolt wasn't going to come out. All the restby Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum
(re: '99 Boxster) Hey gang - A few months back the car developed an embarassing rattle from the exhaust in the low RPMs. At first I thought it was the fact that all 4 of the catalytic converter heat shield bolts were gone, so I replaced those bolts. They're tight now and still it rattles. I finally got under there with a rubber mallet and I'm pretty sure that the culprets are the heat shieldsby Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum

At 90K miles, I just replaced the air filter and the MAF, because I was getting a lot of error codes. The new MAF seems to have done the trick for me.by Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum
I just jumped in with you with yesterday's oil change, so we'll see how it goes (formerly M1 0W40). I was wanting to bump up a little bit on the viscosity as I just passed 90,000 miles plus it doesn't get that far below zero in the winter here. Also in the back of my head, 30 years ago I had a shiny new RX-7 that burned oil of every kind I put in until I tried Castrol - and then the oil consumpby Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum
{Hey gang - long-time PPBBer, first time here} Both of my heat shields are basically lying there on top of the pipes, and they rattle at low/starting RPMs. They don't seem to go anywhere, but I need to lock 'em back down. Each has three attach points. I ordered one set of the replacement cam-lock bolts, thinking that I was getting six of them because of the price ($12.25) and the way that Peliby Tom (Powell, OH) - Main Forum
