I just bought a whole new key and paid about $350 for the key-head plus the correct blank. See Suncoast has the key-head for $146 plus blank $40, but then needed to have the blank cut. HOWEVER, Fairfield Porsche changed the pre-set price to program the key from $135 to $79.95 fro 1/2hr work. I didn't ask, but surmise that if i brought the key there, i would have paid the higher price. So, since yby nils - Main Forum
As someone noted regarding your father; cudos to you for doing all the right things for your parents. Strangely enough, even when expected, death comes as a surprise beacuse we are never ready - I certainly wasn't. Wish you strengtht in dealing with the rest - it will be emotionally draining as so many memories will surface when going through their belongings..... Have a safe trip, Nilsby nils - Main Forum
I would buy the ball-joint separator and do it the easy way (Pedro's) which is just getting enough play in the wheel-carrier to push the shaft back out. I did it w/o removing the ball-joints as my tool didn't work as i had expected. That left me in a lurch as i was to drive the car for winter storage the next day and snow cold weather was forecast etc. Thus I just removed the inboard bolts to theby nils - Main Forum
I have the Sumitomo HTRZ III - 18" on a '99 and would not buy again. While not too many miles, I find the same problem as on my BMW E46 (17") which I drove 30k+; namely not so good in rain. I bought both on price, so "guilty" in that respect. Not sure what matters, but they are "one directional" which means the swept back sipes will point forward on one side of the car. Driving home the other day, passing the local "Foreign Car Repair" and saw this nice yellow Fiat Spider so I had to turn around! New York has the benefit of eight spaces which makes it so much easier to be really creative; my son once has PRPLVTEC on his purple Acura Integra Wish all of the BRBS attendees a safe end enjoyable trip and if this becomes an issue something Pedro can fix it for you Nby nils - Main Forum

For what it is worth -I just replaced the two pre-cat O2 sensors on my soon to be 14yr old BMW E46. They were easy to get off, not as their brothers behind the cats done last year. In the end, on those I stripped both bungs, but luckily left enough material to re-tread. Had the car on stands for a week while i struggled with this so feel for you. Now, the pre-cat O2's did improve the milage byby nils - Main Forum
The Durametric tool ($287 for the simple version) will give you the data regarding revs and at what engine time in the past. In this case it would possibly show over-revs in the most recent past; hard to argue! Think this a worthwhile investment if you cannot get someone else to lend you theirs and "sacrifice" one of the 3 cars available for this one. Otherwise, a dealer or a independent with theby nils - Main Forum
Given that the IMS failed, NOT installing the LN upgrade same as cancelling your home-insurance once the mortgage paid "since I never needed it for the past 30years"............" IMHO. Am sure Byron will be able to better concentrate on the next apex when he doesn't always have to worry about what's going on in the engine-compartment. That must be worth a few tenths on each lap and that's the goaby nils - Main Forum
