Gotta love that license plate.by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
You shouldn't feel too bad. A five year run on a car battery is really good. Eight is amazing. The Porsche car salesman will probably tell you not to bother to replace the battery and to just buy a new Boxster instead.by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
Black Forest is a super-reputable shop. If it turns out to be a blown engine, I may be able to help you. I have a friend who is a consummate "collector of stuff". He mentioned to me that he had a Boxster engine, still in a crate, of about that vintage. It is a new engine I think. I have no idea what he would want for it, except that he has no use for it for sure. So, if in despair, I willby Andy from Newport - Main Forum
You guys have got your priorities wrong. The Boxster is a convertible. Right? So why would any of you live in 10 degree weather? Come on out west. When the weather is warm enough to lower the top, rent a new apartment, lower the top, and THEN test the battery. :-)by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
Thanks guys, this has been a huge help. I really appreciate it. Andyby Andy from Newport - Main Forum
It might also be a little rust that forms rather quickly on the brake rotors when they get wet (or snowy) and sit for awhile, like overnight.by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
Hi Guys, I need to replace the tires on my 2008 Boxster S. I've narrowed down to two tires, a Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (the Porsche "n" rated tire) and a Pilot Super Sport Max. The latter tire is not "n" rated but appears to be a superior tire from a customer ratings standpoint on Tirerack.com. The car is used exclusively for spirited driving on back country roads in dry conditions. No traby Andy from Newport - Main Forum

I need to buy a new car key. Dealer wants $400 (including programing). Is there a less expensive way to do this?by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
For what it's worth, I would drive different model years. It's all about personal preferences, but I thought the "feel" of the car changed significantly from 2009 onwards. The 2008 seemed to have a much more sports car feel and ride. Thereafter it seems as if it is evolving more to a grand touring type of feel and ride. Take a test drive or two and see what you think.by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
Marc, a guy ought to buy a new Boxster every 250,000 miles whether he needs one or not! Keep on chugging. All the best, Andy from Newportby Andy from Newport - Main Forum
I was really surprised when I bought my most recent Boxster (a year ago) how few are actually stocked on dealer's lots here in Southern California. Very few choices in color and virtually no choices on options. That may be why they sell less than some other models. Not many folks have the patience to custom order a car.by Andy from Newport - Main Forum
