Yes an imagined problem is easier to fix than a real one! Although what you are describing is more or less how mine acted. It just didn't warm good in the cold. You can check that the door is modulating by scooting up under the dash and watching the motor and levers move. If you raise/lower the temp you should see corresponding movement of the lever. Marc; There can be a problem with the blending door, depending on the year of your Boxster. My MY 99 puked foam out of the vents for quite a while and then I found the source: The blending door had a foam covering and when the foam degrades, huge holes open up in the door. The holes were for making the part lighter I suppose. My symptoms were similar but I had trouble getting much heat in theby emmettpeter - Main Forum
I self performed a factory remanufactured 3.4 into a '99 2.5 after my Boxster's engine blew (slipped sleeve). I can't speak to other years as the e gas is probably different deal. Yes the intake will work, in fact you want the 3.4 intake because as part of it's horspower it has the vacuum valve switch on the intake which has to be wired to the ECU with a spare wire. Then of course the ECU hasby emmettpeter - Main Forum
It has been for me for everything I have been doing for about two years now; I have not used it to try an engine change which hopefully I won't have to do with the 9A1 Engine in the Cayman S! Oil changes, tires, brakes, bleeding, etc. are super easy. I use an assortment of the pads that came with it and hockey pucks to pick the lift points on the car I'm working on. Actually since it is a mixing flap there should be no flow through it. It changes position via a motor (actuator) to control the cabin temp. The foam that deteriorated had a thin plastic layer that is air tight. So when you get another chance to work on it you need to fill all the holes completely and put thin foam around the edges to help seal at its extreme positions. The standard fix is toby emmettpeter - Main Forum
Here is what I have and I don't know how I ever did without it: Mid Rise Lift I park over it daily and it does'nt intrude on the garage space. I agree that the 2 and 4 post lifts are great but I have yet to find something that I can't do with this scissors. It is well made and has worked well. Make sure if you buy a scissors that it has space down the middle like this one and is redundant, wby emmettpeter - Main Forum
David, the above input is great but the more likely problem is the one I had and fixed on my '99 Boxster. The heater flap is a metal part that is basically a metal sheet with numerous holes in it to save weight. Porsche then glued foam to the outside of the plate to make it seal and make it airtight. With time the foam degrades and fall off. You may have seen featherweight plastic foam comingby emmettpeter - Main Forum
