I just had my rear brake discs, sensors & pads replaced and when I went to pick up the car the airbag light was on. Mechanic stated I probably just need knew seat belt buckles. So I was in the process of ordering them when I read of someone else having work done on their car and it turned out something was done with the keys in the ignition which triggered the warning. So I'm speculating if tby sonicworld - Main Forum
So I went to Mikes Porsche Boxster Webpages as he has a search engine but the closest independent provider is Rensport in Framingham (a good hour plus away). And I also used but there are no testimonials. So if anyone has any recommendations or resources I have not mentioned please let me know. Or if you think an hour away is reasonable, and to be expected, share those thoughts too.by sonicworld - Main Forum
I just wanted to thank everyone for their input. I did purchase the car in question and have nothing but good news to report! While I did not get the car for $10K as some suggested I do feel I got a decent deal. And to think I originally was going to offer the seller full price, your support gave me the courage to obtain the car for much less. While I did review the maintenance records before pby sonicworld - Main Forum
Thanks for checking. It has the same asking price, I believe Mike was suggesting finding ones with lower asking prices as an arbitration tool.by sonicworld - Main Forum
Thanks, I like your strategy but I have not been able to find any comparibles that illustrate a lower price for a high mileage Boxster S except for the one you refered to earlier which has a salvage title. And I agree with you that this car does indeed have a limited demographic due to that mileage. I spoke with the seller today and offered him $10K. He said no thanks, he'll keep it. Thanks for the response. The 18" turbo look wheels are OEM, not sure about the 17's" (which are being used as the winter set). I looked at the 18's and they appear to be in better shape but as they were not on the car for the inspection I have no way of knowing if any are bent. They took the hard top off during the PPI to inspect the soft top which was found to be in excellent condition includiby sonicworld - Main Forum
Retrofitting the IMS bearing requires a 3rd party part or is this done by PORSCHE? Is the IMS bearing located in the same area as the RMS? If so one could kill 3 birds with one stone as I hear many folks also try to time the clutch replacement along with replacing the RMS.by sonicworld - Main Forum

This past week I test drove a Artic Silver 2002 Boxster S at a used car dealership in WMass. It felt zippy, responsive, smooth idol & shits, plus quiet over bumps. The asking price is $11,999 and it has 133642 miles on it. The seller had most, if not all, of the service records which we went over and demonstrated the car appears to have been well cared for. Per Carfax it is a 2 owner car andby sonicworld - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Weston, FL) ... Was first introduces with the 2000 Boxster S, which was the first Boxster S. From that model year on it's been standard in every Boxster (base and S). Happy Boxstering Pedro Thanks Pedro, great site!by sonicworld - Main Forum
Quotegrant Certainly since 03 they are on all 986s and 987s. Welcome to the boxster universe. Its a great place to be. Grant Thanks! Seems like 2003 was a key year in the 986's evolution in so many ways...by sonicworld - Main Forum
Just getting into the Boxster universe with the hopes of investing in one sooner than later. Ran upon an old article in Excellence magazine from which I obtained the Subject line quote. The article is basically lauding a "S" vs base equipped 986. Not even sure what a "top headliner" is or if it's truly significant?? If it is, was it made part of standard models later on or always been exclusive tby sonicworld - Main Forum
