When have any of these reviews ever said the new version is a step backward? Probably never.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
and will not be used primarily for general transportation. It says no backup transportation or errands. It goes further saying it will not be driven to work, school or used for business or commercial purposes. Timed races are verboten too. I guess I don't worry about it. My main reason for the insurance is if it gets stolen, then pay me. My toy is a 1997 993tt. You'll have to determine ifby MarknearChicago - Main Forum
I rarely care about watches but I bought a Rolex 17 years ago because I was pissed off that the gold Seiko I had was blistering after less than 10 years. The Rolex is going strong, cleaned and oiled every 5 to 6 years. Probably keep it til I croak. Mark near Chicago.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum

Before I jump ship from M-1 to P-stuff I need to see the level of ZDDP it contains.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
I cringe when I put 0W-40 in my 993. I used to use Delvac 1 but I read something in Excellence that highly recommended against doing that. Not sure why? The only question now is where can we get that stuff at a reasonable price or are we stuck with the dealer?by MarknearChicago - Main Forum

Mine is 17 years old. Bought it when my Seiko was lost or stolen. Figured if I paid enough money I wouldn't lose it or my wife would kill me. It gets serviced every 5 years. One time I had the saphire crystal replaced - less than $100 and I have the servicing done by Rolex in Dallas. Accuracy - it gains a minute a week. I have heard that if I have it positioned in a certain way at night thisby MarknearChicago - Main Forum
Who did your seat repairs? Question by Mark near Chicago with a 2000S. Also, when I pulled my seat in my 97 Box hit the ignition and turned on the air-bag light, it cost me $60 to get Motorwerks to reset the light.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
I got stuck in a line of traffic on the highway. The car in front was driven by a woman, flashers going. Went on for about 20 miles, then low and behold they went off. They were off for about 5 minutes and I had an opportunity to pass her and so I did. However, as I was passing her I saw that she was in the process of making a new cell phone call and a second later on went the flashers again.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum

I had forgotten that Buffum had stuffed an Audi factory-owned Sport Quattro. As for my ride in a Sport Quattro, I recall going 145mph down the front straight at Brainard. The car porpoised around quite a bit. A few years later I got a ride in Steve Beddor's 911 Pike's Peak car and did 165 down the same straight. Totally controlled.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum

Porsches are nice but Audis are all weather. Don't bother flaming me, I've owned both for going on 31 years.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum

Hard top helps. You can go through powered snow that is 1 to two inches deeper than the ground clearance. You probably could go through more but when it got deeper than that I switched cars.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
Never did hold a full charge after that. I bought a CTEK on amazon.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
I have a 1997 993 twin turbo and I would guess that if you drove it you would find it quite dated. It is fast but the gear spacing is much wider than in a Boxster or 997. As John recommended, find one, drive it and then decide. I would not want to be driving my 993tt as my daily driver. If you enjoy your Boxster I'd say drive an "S" and see if that meets your needs. I had a '97 Boxster, soldby MarknearChicago - Main Forum

Pelican rates that task - oil and filter change - at 6 out of 10. I've done it and they're right.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum

I remember my 1968 Chrysler 300 backup lights - they were like mini-headlights and did a good job of lighting up whatever was behind me.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
Also, there has been a lot of talk here about replacing the front motor mount. I, too, have a 2000S with 54K miles and am not satisfied with the precision and effort necessary to work the shifter as well as the quality of the linkage. Mine appears to require 1) a warm tranny, 2) shifts made at a certain pace and 3) a precise and firm shift. No where near as fun as all of my other cars, namely,by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
Happened a bunch of years ago to my old 1997 Box. If you take out the seat and disconnect the wiring DO NOT turn the ignition on.by MarknearChicago - Main Forum
