Hey dudes! Long time no talky!!! Well, I guess a spring broke or something in my driver interior door handle, because now it doesn't retract all the way, and flops around a little bit... not enough to actuate the door latch, but enough to sag and trigger the window dip, which can apparently cause a whole host of annoying little things, like if you don't notice it's sagging when you get out and clby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Thanks, guys! Awesome info, as always. Damn, I love this community. I don't get as much chance to stay and play as I'd like any more, but I do think about y'all often. Yup, I said "y'all". And I'm not from Texas or the South. :-)by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Hey guys! Long time no talky! Nice to see lots of familiar faces here. Quick question, though: I'll start the car, no dash lights. A while later I'll look and the ABS and PSM OFF lights are illuminated... doesn't seem to affect the behavior of the car, though it's impossible to tell if PSM is actually off until I take it out into the twisties some time--and hopefully not end up in a ditch. lolby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Wow! Thanks for all the amazing info, guys... I really appreciate it. I'm about to "call it in" to State Farm now... keeping all the above (and below) in mind. Wish me luck!by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Crinkled a bunch of paint, scraped up the back end, put a good fold in the polyurethane of the rear bumper cover, damaged both Bumperplugs painted bumperettes, put a big scrape on the painted spoiler cover, and bent the supporting raising/lowering spoiler bracket itself, too, I think. My insurance is State Farm... shouldn't be a big deal to get it covered and the job done right, but anybody havby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Just checked out various Boxster S pads on Pelican's site. The ones from Textar (and a few others) match the profile shape and style of the HPS I just installed. Their note: "NOTE: Backing plate with larger mass and balance weights added, Boxster S (2000-04)" "Larger mass" = taller than the prevkous versions, "Balance weights" = the "silver cylindrical metal thingys" I mentioned earlier. Haha Jby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
they look like installed. Fitment seems factory tight to me... meaning hard, positive contact at the ends of pad insertion travel, no apparent wobble once in position, either front or rear. Just tall shit sticking out the top of the fronts (rears don't have these etra bits.(What are they, anyway...?) I Did the whole car.by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum

Just wanted to make sure I'm not installing the wrong pad model... the previous set dont seem to have all the extra height on the backing plate and those silver cylindrical metal thingys (yeah, awesome how technical I am, right?). Oh, these are Hawk HPS, btw. Just wanted to check and make sure before I put all the pins and stuff back in... there's now a lot of crap sticking out the top of the caby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum

... I have an original Techno Torque in the car currently. My question is this: Is that still the same design as the current techno torque (1)? Meaning what should I do with it when I get it out of the car? Sell it? Use it as a window planter for kitchen herbs? Melt it down for earrings? Does it have any value?by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Thanks, Grant. It would not be nearly so without the generous help of the people in this forum, however--including you. And I'm sure I'll have brake job/caliper paint questions over the weekend. Hahaby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Nose is a Caractere (out of Belgium)... The archives contain extensive commentary (from me) on what I went through to get it, the materials and who to buy from.by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun with it... I washed it, clayed it, then busted out the Porter Cable random orbital and gave it a machine polish (using a very fine formula to gently polish out some light swirl marks). Then I gave it a machine wax with a high carnauba content formula. Interior is next... ... new pics of the old girl. Did some detailing work on her this past weekend, and with all her regular internal maintenance done, she's looking and rolling as almost as good as new. (Now I'm just waiting for those pesky brake pads--and then once that's done, I'll bite the bullet and repaint the calipers.) Just thought I'd share! :-)by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
a bigger problem when the car was cold, but still happening after it was warm, too. My issue turned out to be a worn brass bushing where the (I think) linkage entered the gear housing. It's been too long, but I posted detailed descriptions and pics here long ago. That stuff will definitely still be searchable in the archives.by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Thanks for the thoughts, guys... And keep in mind, if I didn't want anyone's opinions, I wouldn't have even posted the question haha. All thoughts and opinions are very much welcomed and appreciated. I've never heard of the HP+, so that's good to know as I'm looking for new pads, as I'm sure I'll run across them. Grant, I seem to recall you're a sometimes-racer/track guy, is that correct? That's me in the original Back To The Future DeLorean. You can see the flux capacitor behind me has almost reached the necessary 1.21 gigawatts necessary to send me back in time to... well, HERE! Glad to see you're all still here!!!!!!!! So I just thought I'd check in with a question: I'm (still) running Hawk HPS pads these days for their low dust properties and decent performance, but I'm FIby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Selling the original plenum: great idea! And yeah, it's good to see there are still quite a few familiar faces (read: typists/posters) here. I'll need to do that TechnoPower2 upgrade, then... we'll see if I still have enough residual memory and skill to undo what I did before. It's been so long since I've personally been in my engine cavity, I hardly remember what I did the first time(s)! HAHA Tby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Not sure you recall, but I have your original plenum in my car already (along with other Techno-parts in other areas, I might add... good stuff). I was wondering if that plenum is the same as the one in the TechnoPower2 kit, or if, to get the most out of the REST of the items in that kit, I'd need to change out that plenum for a newer version of it, too. locate some other, newer pics of fodd I've taken more recently. Lesson for the day: don't put a bag of food on the closed roof of your Boxster, start the engine, put the top in automatic motion (with your SmartTop relay), forget about the food on the rood, and then get out of the ccar and walk away while everything splats. hahaYuck.by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
after all thay,. It's all cleaned up , put back together, and good as new now. Doesn't even smell like stew. :-)by The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
Actually, I just remembered... it's not JUST on startup. Although it's most prominent on startup, if I lug the engine to low-ish RPM in, say 3rd gear and ask the car for torque by stomping the throttle a bit, I can get it to emit the same noise, as well, and extend it. That's what makes me think it's something else on the serp line... unless you're saying the starter is onvolved in that, too :-Dby The Voxster ('03S, In-A-Band Jose) - Main Forum
