Back in business, the codes were checked and none were found. Only downside was that I missed the one 60 degree day all winter.by wewannaporsche - Main Forum
Thanks for the responses. My typical oneway commute is 14 miles, 5 times per week. 9 miles of this is at highway speeds. I have also experienced the hardstarting/misfire that Marc mentions when restarting an engine that was not run for long I was on the verge of the 90K service so the plugs were due and the indie is preforming the rest of the 90K.by wewannaporsche - Main Forum
My 2002s (88K miles) would not start on Monday morning so I had it towed to my indie and they report that the plugs were fouled; once replaced the car started and ran fine. I suspected that this might be the cause, here is what happened: I am in NJ so it was cold and snowing last Friday. I drove it home after work and left it in the driveway overnight. On Saturday I started it up and put it inby wewannaporsche - Main Forum

A few months ago someone posted a means of diagnosing engine issues via acoustic signatures. There was an offer to "listen" to various cars at one of the meets. Any updates on this? I was wondering if any problems were found and if the cars were subsequently fixed based on the information.by wewannaporsche - Main Forum
We have a 2011 Golf TDi and love it. So far we are getting a combined 40.2 mpg, a bit less on the cold weather.by wewannaporsche - Main Forum
Who makes them? They really look great.by wewannaporsche - Main Forum
In this cold weather my 2002s has been making a metallic whine right after a cold start, it lasts about 30 seconds and then goes away. The noise comes from the engine compartment and is louder when observed from the passenger side.. It sounds like a circular saw when you release the trigger only not as loud. Seems worse this year, could something be about fail? I am sure that it is not the engineby wewannaporsche - Main Forum
Mine does this when it is very cold. I was told they all do it.by wewannaporsche - Main Forum
I have rented many times mostly in Germany and have never had a problem until the last time. I rented from AVIS and when I brought the car back they found a scratch and charged me over $600.00. I used my charge card but getting have been waiting for 5+ months for them to cover it on the insurance, they are waiting for AVIS to provide paperwork. He is a picture of the scratch, in the US this wouldby wewannaporsche - Main Forum
