Laz and Grant: Thank you very much. Getready: I suggest that you contact the law firm that is handling the matter. They are very helpul and responsive. Here is a link to the site they set up: IMS class action settlement websiteby danz76 - Main Forum
I have been speaking with the attorneys who are handling this class action for the plaintiff class about why the VIN range is so restricted, particularly with respect to the 2001 model year. At first they told me that they are settling claims for the VIN ranges that had a 4-10% failure rate, based on data provided to them by Porsche. I suggested to them that the failure rates are based on what waby danz76 - Main Forum

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which replaced my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great SUVs.by danz76 - Main Forum
My indy in Miami charges me $180 for an oil change, which includes oil (duh), filter, topping off all of the fluids as needed, checking tire wear, checking brake wear, checking the underside of the car for damage, checking the hoses, cleaning my K&N air filter and occassionally cleaning out m MAF. I keep an eye on most of these things on my own, but like to have the peace of mind of having aby danz76 - Main Forum
I have one installed behind the passenger seat. Plug and play. I highly reccomend it.by danz76 - Main Forum
Agreed. These are great tires.by danz76 - Main Forum
Agree with Mike. You need a good alignment by a shop that knows these cars well. Don't bother with Sears or some other chain. Typical tire wear for these cars is inside first.by danz76 - Main Forum
I had the same amp and the same setup in my '01. I replaced the amp, the head unit, all of the speakers and installed a small subwoofer behind the passnger seat. I am much happier with the stereo now. I reccomend replacing that amp. It's not very effective. You will need to find something small to fit in that space. A professional installer can build a nice little shelf to mount the amp on withouby danz76 - Main Forum

I remain eager to hear about Pedro's "unveiling".by danz76 - Main Forum
Agree with this post. I wasted $500 on a replacement plastic, only to have it rip again a year later. Finally caved and had the GAHH top with glass window installed. IMHO, if you plan to keep the car for any considerable period of time, spend the extra money and go glass. Cost approx. $1200.by danz76 - Main Forum
Do not hesitate a moment longer. Trash that awful CDR220 and get yourself a nice Alpine or other good head unit. I love my Apline, and don't miss the CRD220 a bit. The dimness is not your eyes or your sunglasses - its your old head unit dying a slow death. It's not worth fixing. Beware: These improvements become contagious. I've also replaced the factory amplifier (huge difference) with an afterby danz76 - Main Forum
I agree with Pedro, go with the GAHH top, they are the best by far. This MUST be installed by a professional. I went through two plastic replacement windows before giving in and getting the GAHH with the glass window. I am very pleased with the result.by danz76 - Main Forum
I enjoyed this post so much that I shared it on the Maserati Life board. Yes, I joined that board when I was thinking about selling my '01 Boxster S in order to purchase a 2004-2005 Maserati Spyder because I nice one can be purcahsed in the mid-$30k range. When I saw how trouble-ridden the Spyder can be with their F1 transmission and pump, and how expensive the maintenance is, I balked. My opioby danz76 - Main Forum

I looked at this a few years ago and decided, after much research, to replace everything. The clean sweep system looked like a band aid to me.by danz76 - Main Forum
Thanks for sharing. What a great episode. Is anyone familiar with the procedure Ed used to resurface the rotors? Several years ago my local steal-ership told me that the Boxster rotors must be replaced with a brake job and that they never resurfaced rotors.by danz76 - Main Forum

I installed the Hankook Evo V12s on my '01 S, a daily driver, in July of last year and have been very pleased. They are excellent for South Florida because I don't need an all season tire but they do channel water out very well when it rains. I just checked the wear bars this past wekeend and was very impressed with how much tread was left on them. The mechanics at my indy shop have also been impby danz76 - Main Forum
Very funny FL jokes guys -- although true. However, I will driving the Boxster to the golf course on Sunday and actually playing. Should be in the mid 70s and sunny.by danz76 - Main Forum

Pedro is correct. I lived in northern NJ when I bought my '01, but I purposely bought one from South Florida and had it transported up north because I wanted a car that had not been exposed to salt and snow. I alos found that the supply in SoFl was plentiful.by danz76 - Main Forum
Interesting article about this 911: Artsy 911 Miami styleby danz76 - Main Forum
This is by the well known Miami artist Romero Britto. He has a few galleries in South Florida. I've never seen this 911, but I've seen a Bentley, Mercedes and Audi thats he painted in his unique style. I wish he'd stuck to defacing those "other" cars. Oh well.by danz76 - Main Forum

This extremely well made part (by Mower Deck Axle) enables Boxster and Cayman owners to mount their front license plate on an aluminum alloy plate that bolts into the tow hook in the front bumper. Installation and removal are a snap. I used this part for several years while living in NY and NJ, but in FL there are no front plates, so I am selling this great part. I purchased the part from its manby danz76 - Parts for Sale
