Its going to be HUGE!by Anker - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
First DE ever rub on snow tires! :-)by Anker - Main Forum
Yes, I can't remember whether it was 986forum or rennlist, but it is annoying to see posters put the same post in multiple forums and get exactly the same answers to their questions. There was no indication that the OP had actually checked the ground connection before cross posting.by Anker - Main Forum
I told him the same thing on another forum! :-)by Anker - Main Forum
I am looking for a stock tiptronics Boxster from a good home. What will make me more interested: 2003-2004 S Maintenance records Permanent IMS solution Not black Not black interior No sun damageby Anker - Cars for Sale
First check that your battery and alternator are good, Battery should read at least 12,5V with ignition off, 11V when cranking and 14V when idling. All kinds of electrical gremlins pop up when the battery gets weak.by Anker - Main Forum
Would be hard to make any uglier. The ugly snout or p*n*s sticking out the front is the worst!by Anker - Main Forum
We need a sound track!by Anker - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro, that;s good to know.by Anker - Main Forum
On the 5 speed you will overfill if you fill till it runs out. The correct level is lower than the fill hole. You need a small measuring tool, a paper clip will do, to determine the level.by Anker - Main Forum
Actually the Chevrolet Volt has been the best plug-in hybrid ever since it was introduced about 7 years ago!by Anker - Main Forum
For better access remove the driver's vent grill and the part of the duct that attaches to the grill.by Anker - Main Forum
You should be able to find the parts much cheaper used. For example Woody on 986forum. Yes, you will need new key blades, but you can transfer the RFI pill and circuit board from your old keys and not have to change anything electronic.by Anker - Main Forum
Download the Porsche Boxster parts document from Porsche's web site and find the page that lists the parts for the ignition switch. It will have the part numbers for all components. Then do a Google search on the part number. I have found this document and procedure invaluable. I would have done it for you, but I am sitting in a hospital waiting area without access to my laptop with the documenby Anker - Main Forum
Graphite is an electrical conductor. Don't spray that into an electrical switch.by Anker - Main Forum
Yes, the 101 Projects book is Dempsey's. I haven't had time to go through Porsche's Boxster service manual, but suspect that it will have the most thorough description. My experience is that the procedures they take you through are a bit more complex than those described by the DIY manuals. More disassembly and more use of specialized tools. The Bentley manual covers replacement of your point 1),by Anker - Main Forum
There are two pieces to the ignition switch. One is the electrical part, and I assume that it's what you replaced. The other is the mechanical part that probably is responsible for your hard turning. The electrical switch component is relatively easy to replace (read pretty awkward), the mechanical is harder. I recommend you read the 101 Projects pages on doing this as well as the Bently manual.by Anker - Main Forum
Happy New Year to you, Pedro and all the members here!by Anker - Main Forum
Its a very personal issue! I am really happy that I have a DOF IMS solution, the Pedro/RSTune one and if I didn't have one and I was in your situation I would spend the money. An argument is that if you are financially strapped it is much better to spend the smaller amount of money now instead of potentially having to spend a ton more or scrapping the car later.by Anker - Main Forum
10 hours to drop and replace the transmission sounds excessive. While you are at it have the clutch replaced, if it makes sense and make sure they replace the transmission mounts.by Anker - Main Forum
The warning light is controlled by micro switches. Have you tried to stick your little finger into the hole that the closing latch goes into and pressing the micro switch there? If the light doesn't go out the micro switch may be broken or disconnected. I do not remember the location of the microswitch that determines whether the top is completely open. The way I read your post it sounds like thby Anker - Main Forum
You can save a ton of money by doing some of it yourself and using an indie rather than a dealer. Front rotors and pads are easy to replace, tires you can get from TireRack, and alignments can be done by any tire shop with road force alignments system. If you are slightly more adventurous you can do the "major" service yourself.by Anker - Main Forum
21 MPG is really low. I only see that with all city driving. As soon as I get out on open roads it will go up to between 25 and 27 MPG. Also, if you can't remove the oil filler cap when the engine is idling you have a bad AOS. The vacuum is way too high. The best way to test the AOS is to have a spare cap with a vacuum gauge attached. I don't remember the exact crank vacuum that you should get wby Anker - Main Forum
If I understand correctly what you are doing you are running the full current of the fan through the switch. That's too much current and the switch will arc every time you turn it off and slowly erode the contacts. You need to put a relay into the circuit with the proper components to eliminate arcing.by Anker - Main Forum
Quotetom coughlin A radio with a CD player should be an easy thing to add. A fellow in TX parts out a lot of cars. Text him at 512-925-9171 and see if he has what you need. It's a really fun car as you've already found out. His name is Woody!by Anker - Main Forum
If your clips are good a piece of foam weather stripping on top of the roll bar should do the trick. If they are work, replace them, they are inexpensive at Pelican.by Anker - Main Forum
