Michelin Webcasts
Michael SYS Driver - Thursday, 8 September, 2011, at 12:54:31 pm
Hi everyone, I have gotten an email from Michelin and they are going to start to do some webinars and they were looking for topics to cover with their engineers and specialists. They had asked for topics, questions or issues that my online community would be interested in. So the question goes out to all, what topics would everyone be interested in?

I will collect them all and forward it out to them.

Thanks

Some questions
Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Thursday, 8 September, 2011, at 4:47:32 pm
They probably will get these already, but what the hey...

1 - What type of tire dressings are good or bad for tires?
2 - What is the value of nitrogen
3 - Is there any preparation for storing tires that are mounted on a car for the winter?
4 - I swap winter/summer tires and wheels. Is there any I should do or not do for off-car seasonal storage?
5 - What should I do if I have a high speed vibration in a wheel even after I had multiple re-balancing?
6 - Is there value to road-pressure balancing of summer tires?
7 - Is there value to road-pressure balancing of winter tires?
8 - Is there a difference in "cold" tire pressure for winter and summer particularly before a long trip at highway and above speeds in each season?
9 - Are street tires subject to heat-cycle traction degradation from weekend track events similar to track tires (other than the wear from friction)?
10 - Below what ambient temperatures are your summer sport tires not recommended for use?
11 - What tire characteristics result in road noise and how do you mitigate this in your designs?
You have discontinued several tire designs commonly used in Porsches yet Porsches are known to need a set of rear tires before the fronts are worn out. Recommendations for replacements strategy.

You have used the same marketing model designation for both N-rated and non-rated tires sometimes creating confusion which only a SKU analysis will resolve. Are all N-rated tires sufficiently uniquely identified?

How are N-rated tires technically different from their similar looking non-rated ones?
Minus 40 degrees... Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius?
