Has anyone else been following the specs on the new Mustang?

For 16 years, I had a 1988 Mustang GT, just before I bought my Boxster. I realize a lot of people have had bad experiences with Fords, but it's hard to argue with 16 years. When I bought my used 986, the differences were what you'd expect -- I don't think the Porsche is faster, but it handles much better and the ride is, obviously, low-slung and sports car-like.

I don't really miss the Mustang, but I've been reading about the new iteration and what keeps coming through is that the car apparently handles much better. I don't think I'd go back, but it's something to think about -- a Mustang with better handling than my old one would be a real improvement.

In the new go around, Ford finally did away with the solid rear axle and had gone independent suspension in the back for the first time in the Stang's storied history.
