Do you recognize this ? [by EricG - Main Forum
I started working on my short shifter only to discover that it had been changed before. One of the sign is this part. Anyone can identify it ?by EricG - Main Forum
Just being curious, couldn't this have been solved by pluging a battery maintainer to the cigar lighter socket ? Would a maintainer supply enough power to pop the trunk open ?by EricG - Main Forum
Got the same done here in good old cold Quebec !!! The beast started on first turn, I took it out to the fresh air and let it idle for a few minutes. Drove up north to a friend who needed a lift to his storage warehouse where his 930 - 1989 was hibernating. His started on first turn as well and off we went to drive in the country side. We tried to find a curvy road, but the higher north we weby EricG - Main Forum
Carlos, I never noticed you replaced your radio, what did you put in ? I'm considering do have mine replaced as well. Did you get the speaker changed as well ?by EricG - Main Forum
Very nice Video... Maybe Redbull should have spent more time on the car and less on the PR ! I read everywhere that they are having a hard time with the new car. Not sure where but I think I read that the felt the season is starting 2 months early for them. If Vettel and Redbull are that much behind it can only make for a more interesting 2nd half of the season and a closer standing.by EricG - Main Forum
Actually, it's an 05 not an 06... 25k was the us price, once imported to MTL with duty, transport, inspection, it went up to 32.6k CAN. At the time the same car was about 37k in MTL, but I couldn't find my color combo. I was hooked on Black and Tan and another color would have been a mistake..... No regrets, excluding the long winter that I now have to wait to regain, my summer permagrin !!!by EricG - Main Forum
Seems like a good deal, I ran the data on Kelly's blue book for that region from a Dealer and it's between $14.5K to $15,8K, fair purchase at $15,2K. From a private party in good conditions it's at $14,4K. At $13,9K the ask seems fair, I guess a $12,5K offer could be a starting point. But I'm no reference or expert, I paid my 987.1S out of Mass 2 years ago at $25K with 33K miles on it.by EricG - Main Forum
You guys got me wondering and researching... here's a very good article on the subject: Can gas really go bad ? Enjoy !by EricG - Main Forum

The problem is your size requirement, there are loads of 3X5 as I am sure you already know. Go to BestFlags: Have one made custom, a 4X6 will cost you 119$ and a 5X8 will be 154$ (Plus shipping and taxes). Find yourself a good Porsche artwork online and you will be set. One of a kind flag for a room that will be one of kind. I did this for a friend who just had a baby. I got him a small sby EricG - Main Forum
Quotegrant Cranked my Audi in COLD weather last week in VT and looked - never fell below 10.something volts (its analog don;t push for too much precision) Grant Thanks Grant, I'm assuming your Audi has a good battery I will have to do the test, these days with our weather variation, I can probably crank it at any points between 10C to -20C...by EricG - Main Forum
Grant, That suggests that your browser is caching (localy storing for faster accces) the form for posting on the board, if you have used it in the past and didn't for a while, you probably are pushing the information you want to post in a format unacceptable by the server. I bet that if you clear your browser cache and cookies, you will have fix your problem.by EricG - Main Forum
Could a load test be performed by measuring the voltage variation while putting a load on the battery like starting the car ? What metric should be acceptable ?by EricG - Main Forum

QuoteRoger987 I used the genuine Porsche short-shift kit, which I bought from Suncoast. It doesn't require destruction of the original shifter (rather, the original is simply removed, as a unit) and it includes a gizmo that places the shifter lever in the correct position for installation. I did the work myself. I'm happy with the outcome. I considered the Porsche Genuine SSK, but the price isby EricG - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Clear side markers would look good with the black and as you say, it's an easy DIY. I also got the B&M short shift for my 2006 Boxster from Eric. Absolutely loved the change. It made gear shifting even more fun. A flick of the fingers get's you from 1st to 2nd. My indy did the installation. He was very meticulous about lubricating everything and adjusting it so it wasby EricG - Main Forum
Has you might know, when winter comes in QC, my boxster goes to hibernation. But this year, I'm planning to spend sometimes and money upgrading the car as a DIY project. Right now, here's what I'm planning: 1- Standard clear side markers upgrade: Very easy to do, I guess I'll spend more time looking for the markers then replacing them. But I'm considering going for LED markers, any suggestioby EricG - Main Forum
SNELL 2010 is usually required, but it is important to know what SNELL standard is required by your event organisor. Here the PCA DE requires an SA2010 and will not allow M2010. I'm no expert but I believe SA is for SPORT AUTO while M is for Motorcycle, having for difference that the SA standard require the interior fabric to be fire proof or more precisely fire retardant. Just my 2 cents...by EricG - Main Forum

Yesterday night was my first drive around ! Pretty much the same story, unplug the maintainer, start on first try and off we go. I couldn't get the top down, still a little chilly, but I spent a good 45min with the windows down listening to the symphony ! There was a little vibration in the steering wheel for the first 20min, I have a feeling the tires got a little flat spotted from the winteby EricG - Main Forum

Joanne, My wife and I are in the same situation, we're on the list but far down of it. We thought of renting a motorcycle lodge (they have some left) but they only do single occupency, their reason is that it is a double bed and not queen. That was not a issue for us, but they dont do doubles. So we're kinda stuck at looking around outside the resort, which we don't wanna do, but hey !| Hopeby EricG - Main Forum
I guess you are referring to this !!!! Fiat Seductionby EricG - Main Forum
Obviously you have read more about it or got more information from your broadcast... The part that tickles me is 2 of your statements: QuoteAlso the drivers had been told to turn back engine performance in order to reduce the stress on the engines and to save them for the next race. Weber dialed his engine back as instructed - Vettel didn't. I can't argue if Vettel did or not, but even if I uby EricG - Main Forum
I'm curious to know what caused your lost of respect. His driving or his attitude and post race comments. About his driving, the way I saw it, he was the fastest and told the team he was. He tried to overtake on a very traditional part of the track (straight with DRS support), but was roughly push to the right by Webber. I agree to a few facts in this case: 1- team mate should compete at allby EricG - Main Forum
QuoteBDBOXSTER Hi Everyone, I recently bought a 2005 CPO (June 2005 build date) and have noticed an issue when closing my top. I have to stop about 3/4 of the way down and get out of the car and "guide" the sides of the top into the hard plastic side-outline where the sides should guide themselves in. It's a pain in the arse to always have to stop the top in the middle of closing and get out toby EricG - Main Forum
