QuoteGuenter in Ontario Quotefrogster i like how the "previous owner" only put 55 km on it. With 55 km, the "previous / aka current" owner is the dealer. QuoteGuenter in Ontario it would take a lot longer to charge a car when you've got other cars lined up in front of you, waiting to charge. exactly. there was an article in the news a while back here about a super-charger that had hours long waits. i'll gladly drive electric when it presents no additional hassle than what i face today filling my tank.by frogster - Main Forum
it sure ain't green out here on the left coast! it has been consistently below freezing for a week or so now and that white stuff, albeit only ankle deep, ain't goin' away. best wishes for a happy and healthy 2022 to our boxster brethren!by frogster - Main Forum

thanks. was finally able to get gas late last night. there just happened to be a tanker truck filling the station right near our house so i drove over there and parked in front of the pumps until he finished. apparently they are escorting fuel trucks through the damaged parts of the highways. availability seems to be improving slightly. but i'm guessing the meat and dairy shortages will be longby frogster - Main Forum
don't know if the general population has heard the news of the historic storms we've been having up here in BC. flooding and destruction have been extreme. roads are wiped out. farm animals killed by the thousands. i've been out of gas for a few days and none of the gas stations in our town had gas. no shortage of the gas itself, just the trucks couldn't get through to deliver it. some supermarkeby frogster - Main Forum

QuoteGuenter in Ontario Here's more info, pictures ..... and gulp, price. You'd think with those options, Porsche would be able to fit a manual as a $14,718 as one more box to check. pictures 18 and 19 look like a stick shift, no? is that a gear indicator? just curious. congrats! such a beautiful car and now you can drive it properly.by frogster - Main Forum
so the LED is getting voltage but not lighting up. i may be over-simplifying but that would make me think that the LED has failed. now i'm wondering if 4.8 is the correct voltage or is it too low? i don't know what it should be but hopefully someone here does. regarding the "orientation light," i had a BMW that had orange LEDs that pointed towards the center dash. you could not see that they werby frogster - Main Forum
i think the orientation LED is on when headlights are on, no? my thinking here is along the circuit of lights activated by opening the door. first thing i would do is check the two bulbs. not that they necessarily burnt out at the same time but maybe you didn't notice until the second one did. if you have a continuity tester, it's easy. that would be my next step.by frogster - Main Forum
just thinking out loud here. how many lights are there? if there are more than one, are they all off? does the light on the windshield top go on? are they LED or incandescent bulbs? LEDs can fail too. have you checked the voltage at the "bulb?"by frogster - Main Forum
i found this article that seems pretty straightforward. "To produce e-fuels, electricity, preferably renewable, is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is then combined with carbon dioxide to make drop-in hydrocarbons like diesel, gas (methane), or jet fuel. While e-fuels can be very low-carbon if made from new, additional renewable electricity, they can’t be low-cost aby frogster - Main Forum
my guess is that it will be prohibitively expensive. you just can't get the energy density of gasoline that easily. if we could, then we would have done it already. the problem is those pesky laws of physics.by frogster - Main Forum
i saw this in the news. it makes no sense. i can't see paying even $200,000. it's not that big a deal. i guess some people just have too much money.by frogster - Main Forum
i installed the B&M many years ago. i too think it's probably the cables. there's not much that can go wrong with the shifter mechanism. i would check for loose pieces on the shifter, either bushings or screws/nuts/bolts. if they're fine, then it has to be the cables. the short shift parts should last a lifetime. i know you said a shop took a look at it but i'd ask for a second opinion somewhby frogster - Main Forum
