wow, i am sooooooo jealous!!! that is awesome. please post more pics. oh, and by the way, WELCOME TO PEDRO'S BOARD!by frogster - Main Forum
i have always had a love for porsches. i prefer the understated looks over the more, dare i say vulgar looks of the other brand with a prancing horse. i've always liked the david and goliath story of porsche in racing. my emotional attraction to porsche race cars is extremely strong and i love mid-engined cars. when i was of driving age my dream car was the 930. i bought a '74 914 2.0 somewhereby frogster - 10 years of PB
wow, 10 years. hard to believe. happy anniversary to pedro's board and thank you pedro for your dedication. and thank you stefan for keeping the machine running.by frogster - Main Forum
nice way to (likely?) end the season. for once you've got it warmer than we do over here on the left coast.by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteCarreraLicious They are similar, but don’t share all the same parts between the two: great article. exactly what i needed. thanks!by frogster - Main Forum
i think you wrote something about this a little while ago, no? i was trying to figure out what you meant and i think i did a little bit of searching but i wasn't successful. when you say that the manual uses the pdk box, are you saying that there is no physical connection between the gearshift lever and the gears? although i'm far from an expert on transmissions, i have seen their innards in reaby frogster - Main Forum

QuoteGary in SoFL Could it be that insistence on 3 pedals is mostly a sign of being an inflexible curmudgeon? absolutely.by frogster - Main Forum
congratulations @stevej. how long is the wait for a new boxster these days? looking forward to pics.by frogster - Main Forum

wow, i was just drooling over the GTS models with almost 400 hp. this is even more drool-worthy!by frogster - Main Forum
does the key that doesn't start the engine have the RFID pill in it? if so, then it's just a matter of programming the car to recognize that key. i remember experimenting with my car a long, long time ago to see what would happen without the pill in the key head. i don't remember if the instrument cluster lit up or not but i do remember that the car was totally silent. none of the clicks, whirs,by frogster - Main Forum
granted, the thief would have to know that they security system has been bypassed but still, why defeat a system meant to safeguard the car?by frogster - Main Forum
this makes sense to me. differential would be car speed related rather than engine speed related and could very well be affected by power being sent to wheels or not. granted that it's tough to diagnose on a forum, but it's probably the investigative path that i would go down.by frogster - Main Forum
you don't mention what year your boxster is and i don't know if or when the key design changed. on my boxster, MY2000, the metal key was held in the plastic case by a sort of plastic pin. i did a quick search and found a picture of an aftermarket fob. it isn't identical to the original one but close enough. on the half that is on the right side of the pic, you can see a spring loaded peg or pin.by frogster - Main Forum
is the pitch or frequency of the whine the same at all RPM or does it vary with engine speed? i'm wondering if the frequency changes or just gets louder. does the pitch or frequency vary with road speed, clutch in or out?by frogster - Main Forum
i'm sure a lot of people on this board would like to help you troubleshoot. I've got a few questions that could help start this process. you wrote that the first time you drove with the top up. does this mean it's a new car to you, i.e. you just bought it? or does this mean you've had it since 2006 but never had the top up? (which would be amazing) what exactly do you mean but taking the car ofby frogster - Main Forum
zetic? chetic? exetic? ketic? ughhhhhhhhhhhhby frogster - Main Forum
well that sucks. repair cost may exceed the percentage of the value of the car where insurers just write it off. that's sad. keep us up to date on what happens. interesting that a mechanic wouldn't want a customer. business must be good.by frogster - Main Forum
the clutch slave doesn't really interact with the brakes. the clutch is hydraulic and it simply uses the brake fluid from the same brake fluid reservoir that the brakes use. thus, when you flush the brake system, you're supposed to flush the clutch system as well in order to be sure to replace all of the old fluid with fresh fluid.by frogster - Main Forum
Quoteboehmaj986 Anyhow, Thursday I'm heading back to work from lunch and my break wear sensor light comes on. I was moving at the time and not touching the brakes at all. About 1/2 mile later, slowing then stopping for a traffic light, the brake pedal goes to the floor. Luckily, i was moving slowly enough to pull the e-brake and stop safely without any issue. at least for the moment. don't get me wrong. i look forward to an electric car future. i just don't think it's here yet and ICE will be here for a while on a world-wide level.by frogster - Main Forum
i remember having premature inside wear on the rear and a good alignment fixed it. camber wasn't out of spec nor was it changed. toe was.by frogster - Main Forum
to the best of my knowledge and recollection, inside wear is not due to camber. it is due to toe being out. i don't remember if it's too much or too little but it's that aspect of alignment, not camber. are the toe specs good?by frogster - Main Forum
