I have them on my car, and when I switch to Dunlop winter tires, although I miss summer very much, the relief from the tire noise is substantial. Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum

It seems that Mass .doesn't want any "bad" things on it's vanity plates. One day, after years of having the plate "TOPLES" on his convert., the owner received a plate cancellation in the mail. It seems some fuddy-duddy found it offensive and complained. Sanity finally prevailed when the head of the RMV cancelled the cancellation. I'm glad that in your case the expression was one of support fby tom coughlin - Main Forum

I looked for some previous posting on this failure, but didn't find it. My car is an '02 and it appears, based on what I see from friend's cars that eleven years is about the shelf life for this display. I believe the display module can be replaced. Does anybody have information on this????by tom coughlin - Main Forum
Several years ago I set off from New England to FL and after six hours in the seat I had a pain in the upper left leg just where the seat bolster hits. Knowing there was no way I wanted to complete my trip suffering, I folded up a towel and placed it on the seat bottom center, just enough to raise me above the bolster. It did the trick for me. Bring along a towel in case you find the same problemby tom coughlin - Main Forum
OK, we all know the computerized shifting is getting better and better. I believe that those who are now growing up with these "better" computer-controlled shifts will love them. It's kind of like digital sex. If they told you that was better would you jump right in or let some younger type go for it?by tom coughlin - Main Forum
I've bought a second muffler for my '02 and want to experiment to make it louder (call this my mid to late life crisis). The main requirement is that the fix has to be simple. Understand that I have an electric drill, a Dremel rotary tool, and a hammer. My skill level is limited to the use of those three tools (as well as a screwdriver, and maybe a Mimosa). Do I remember somebody telling us abouby tom coughlin - Main Forum

Unless my car is really dirty, I use a spray detailer. Not only does that eliminate the need for the hose which is frozen anyway, but if I do use the hose I have to wipe the car off or I get water spots (Lapis shows everything). With the detailer, I spray and wipe it off. Done. But, I like Gary's method better!! Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I saw one in the dealership and the color was similar to the one you have shown and reminded me of the blue that lots of 356 racers seemed to prefer.by tom coughlin - Main Forum
Last year my battery was flat so I thought it was dead. As a good AAA member I called and when the guy came he said "I won't sell you one of our batteries (not enough strength for some German cars) but I can run a test (for free)". The test result said "neeeds a charge" so I hooked up my charger and it's been fine for the year since then. So, if you are an AAA member you could have them check itby tom coughlin - Main Forum

You may want to talk to Rene at Rennsport (http://www.rensport.com/porsche/index.html). The shop has been a P-car indy since the last ice age and Rene has been there almost as long. It's near the old GM plant and that place where ladies who have been caught selling cocaine (etc.) live.by tom coughlin - Main Forum
A friend was mentioned that he is interested in buying an early Boxster. Why, I don't know-maybe because the prices are getting to the point where his wife will let him buy one. I told him to get the new, improved, faster, sexier etc. but as usual he seldom listens to me. Didn't the very early ones have some sort of production number tag on the dash (I saw something about that on Wikipedia). Tby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I got the AAA policy when my factory coverage ran out. The one claim I had was paid without any question (but the new Pcar svc manager wanted me to kick in extra money because I was getting valuable work done for "free". I pointed out that my "free" work came as a result of my paid a good deal of money for the AAA coverage and negotiated his bill lower). I bought AAA for three main reasons. 1)by tom coughlin - Main Forum
Get in touch with a leather doctor or some such franchise. These guys go to dealers and fix cars all the time. I had new leather seats in my quite old 356 and a late and (now) lamented cat scratched one of the seats. I had the franchise guy (leather doc) come out and they worked magic, sanding the leather, re-dyeing to the right color match, and covering with some final coat. That was about fourby tom coughlin - Main Forum
Are these for use in CA? I can see the need in Berlin but if the temp. does not go below 40 degrees F where you are, you may be able to use the summer tires year round. If you want to buy a set of used Porsche wheels mounted with Dunlap winter tires I have a set I'm selling ($500). The only problem is I'm on the east coast and the shipping costs could be too high. Where I live, we see used Porscby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I was checking my local ads when I came upon this. How do you suppose they got that engine into a Boxster? I am reminded that I once was at a "high line" auction (the one in PA) and a one or so year old 911 came across the block. It was being sold by the importer with a very brief description indicating that it was being sold with high oil consumption. I can only guess that the first buyer had been unhappy so some sort of deal was made and the offending oil consuming vehicle was resold with fair warby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I got a poorly worded email showing interest in buying a car I had for sale. In my response I said I was getting a lot of mail from scammers, and ...."if you are a scammer, don't waste your time". Back came the response asking "Scammer?"....that he had been planing to come see the car and it was too bad that I clearly couldn't recognize a real buyer. I found it most interesting, that he self-iby tom coughlin - Main Forum

after the first day my normally comfortable driver seat was causing discomfort to the area between my front and rear pants pockets, just where the side seat bolster is. A quick experiment with a towel placed on the flat bottom of the seat raised me up just enough (1/3 to 1/2 inch) clear the bolster and I drove thousands of miles in comfort. So, bring along something that can lift you up a bit, aby tom coughlin - Main Forum
has to be a big question. If there was a spot of oil just in the wrong place that's one thing. I think if I were in your shoes I'd find a big empty parking lot on a rainy day and see if your car contiues this behavior. If it does, the tire setup has to be questioned. If it doesn't, I'd think the oil was to blame. Maybe you should move to the south shore!by tom coughlin - Main Forum
(based on long experience) is to always clean them before putting the top down. Wipe with a wet cloth and pat dry (paper towel OK, but be careful not to rub, just pat). My '02 window is still clear and I only need to use Plexus two or three times a year. Fine dust gets on the outside of the window and when down, the outside bottom half of the window is folded against the upper half. Guess what hby tom coughlin - Main Forum
will it be a NH statie or a MA statie? I bet if you take a few driver's ed. courses (I hear there are a few good instuctors around) maybe you'll be able to handle this old guy's toy! My bet is that your face is covered with a large grin!!! Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
