Fixed a loose starter cable by replacing the starter and putting the cable on correctly this time j/k Glad it's fixed and better than before.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
that the dash would inform you that the clutch switch circuit is discontinuous if the problem is the starter. Regardless, if the problem is the relay then you can verifying that by jumping the relayby Boxsterra - Main Forum
is that people who enjoy gas cars and people who enjoy electric cars don't need to fight each other. Each one has advantages and disadvantages, even in the sports card realm. On your point, state governments are trying to jumpstart the electric car industry but once electric cars are clearly cheaper and better for most people, mandates will be completely unnecessary. ♫ "My uncle has a countryby Boxsterra - Main Forum
The ones you're talking about surround the cats and they have clips that corrode. The solution there is to just replace the clips, nbd. The ones (I think) Grant is talking about are the ones that are forward of that. They are connected to the exhaust pipe with spot welds that break over time.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
They are about 16" long. I cannot tell you how many times they have come in handy.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
just crimp them to make them stop rattling. Ideally you would weld them but crimping seems to work just fine.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
There is only one motor mount, in the front center of the engine. The rear of the engine is bolted to the transmission, which has two transmission mounts. What specifically have you replaced and did you use stock parts? Also, do you only feel the vibration in the range of 1200 rpm? I'm not sure I understand your comment.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The 986 key fob has no protection from sideways force on the microswitches. Over time this can crack or break the solder joint. When you press the button it may be disconnecting and reconnecting many times. That won't stop the light from flashing but it will keep the car from unlocking. The solution is easy: reflow the joint. Also, sometimes the actual switch goes bad, which has the same symptomsby Boxsterra - Main Forum

From back in the day when Carrera GT key heads were cheap. The needed code in question is the hex numbers on the bottom partially covered by the red.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I actually have no idea what it is, perhaps for pulling relays? Does it say in the pamphlet?by Boxsterra - Main Forum
They don't give you the codes for the keys that come with the car. In theory you don't need them as the dealer programs the car to work with the transponders before delivery.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
There are coolant lines that run from the engine to the front radiators. It's likely that one of the hoses or clamps has slipped. Even if it can be fixed in place then make sure you bleed the air out of the system. Source:by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The fiddling and fussing is typically associated with installing a new canvas on an old frame. If you are replacing the whole unit, it bolts right in. I think the quote is for the former.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
It is also possible to get the electrical portion installed with the mechanism rotated improperly. This will cause the symptoms you reported.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
How long it takes for a check engine code to clear depends on the code but typically it takes a couple of drive cycles (varied driving that includes going from fully cold to fully hot). I suggest you continue to drive the car normally and if the code doesn't clear automatically after some time then take it to an auto parts store and ask them to read it. competition is good for the consumer. We definitely need more electric roadsters than just Tesla and Porsche.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
with it, you can basically drive all day with a relatively short break for charging. Without it, it's not going to be great for hard driving all day. The charger installed at VIR maxes at 50kW. The "slow" Tesla ones are 3x as fast at 150 kW and the faster ones are 5x as fast at 250 kW. There is a Supercharger 20 minutes away but obviously that's super inconvenient. I would take tension off the serpentine belt and check the water pump bearing for play. It takes just a minute and is super easy to do. I agree with Carlos that at 60k, this may very well need attention.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Electric cars these days can charge 200 miles in 15 minutes. Obviously, not 200 track miles but fast enough so that you can drive your electric car to the track. Also, the rate of charge gets faster every year so who knows what it will be when the 718 EV is released?by Boxsterra - Main Forum
that electric car fires are almost always caused by the battery overheating, due to either design flaw or damage, not due to external factors. An external fire that is under control will not result in an electric car battery to burst into flames. The fact of the matter in this case is that we don't know even if there were electric cars onboard, not to mention if they contributed -- and how muchby Boxsterra - Main Forum

To be clear, I'm not by any means saying that the chance of a cargo ship having a fire is high but that because there are a lot of cargo ships, incidents are not unusual. Most people who have electric cars plug them in every night but only actually need to charge them occasionally. So you can have multiple electric vehicles and frequent brownouts with zero concerns. As far as road trips are concerned, no doubt it is less convenient than gas but (using Tesla as an example) you can currently (pun intended) charge 200 miles in 15 minutes and that number will continuby Boxsterra - Main Forum
