Put it on a lift and clean the sump with brake parts cleaner. Check for leaks with the engine running. Also, if you are going to keep the car, I suggest you purchase a lift or drive to Chapel Hill and you can use mine.by Blackbird - Main Forum
Laz, It appears you like to perform diagnostic testing. If so, a tool like this may help. .by Blackbird - Main Forum
Laz, I have a 986 and have experienced the rear "clunk" which was resolved by replacing both rear control arms--no front problem yet. In addition, I have a 981 but have not experienced the "clunk" but when I do, the control arms(front/rear) will be the first suspect. Jerryby Blackbird - Main Forum
Nice pic. I would go with G40.by Blackbird - Main Forum

The coolant cap may be the problem. An old cap may be releasing pressure---coolant.by Blackbird - Main Forum
Laz--You need to get a lift before you hurt yourself if you are going to maintain your 981.by Blackbird - Main Forum
Are you changing all coils because of the #5 problem? Is the #4 coil the only one that requires a dealer service?by Blackbird - Main Forum
Thank you Laz. Will that work for all 4 sensors?by Blackbird - Main Forum
I have a 2003 S with Litronics low beam bulb --Philips DS2, H7, 55W. I assume this would work, but have not tried it.by Blackbird - Main Forum
There is a part # stamped on the lock assembly/housing. Not sure you can see it, maybe with a mirror. Does your dealer invoice have a housing part #? Maybe the dealer has a record of your transaction with the housing # he replaced. Also, the ignition switch also seems to have a #. Not sure its a part # though. Your solution to buy two different ignition switches would work if all else fails, butby Blackbird - Main Forum
I think I used something like this-- If the correct one is too long, you could always cut it off.by Blackbird - Main Forum
Guenter went through this exercise--I am sure he will respond or do a search on his name..by Blackbird - Main Forum

Pedro--Do all model years Boxster and Cayman have this cable breakage problem or just certain years?by Blackbird - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro---I am going to exercise the LF pistons (pushing in/out) several times and replace the LF pads with the 70K mile pads which I saved. Then see where I am at.by Blackbird - Main Forum
03 986S--original owner. "Brake wear" warning light comes on, goes off Car has 96K miles Replaced F/R pads at 70K miles Current pads have 26K miles (96-70) LF pad has twice the wear as RF LR/RR/RF pads are good Both front calipers have .5 mm of wear What would cause LF pad to have this abnormal wear?by Blackbird - Main Forum
Laz--Thanks, my fourth setting was blank, but is now set to voltage, the same as yours.by Blackbird - Main Forum
Laz--What procedure do you use to get the dash display to show voltage? Jerry--2016 981Sby Blackbird - Main Forum
The pine trees in NC shed cones and branches. I would put a thick tarp over the car cover, but my preference would to park it away from the all trees.by Blackbird - Main Forum
OK, I guess Little Switzerland. Where did you stay, if my guess is correct? Was this a trial run for the BRBS?by Blackbird - Main Forum
Guenter--How about putting a name on the places? Sure look nice and I may want to visit. Thanks--Jerryby Blackbird - Main Forum
The main information I get from my NC dealers is that they want to buy my car. Try this one for info.by Blackbird - Main Forum
Thanks Guenter, Was Pirelli your first choice? It was available at Tire Rack? How many miles are on the tires you are replacing? What was the date on the TPMS sensors? Looks like you did a good job--doesn't surprise me. I assume Pirelli tires are the ones your are replacing? How about a comparison with the Michelin after about 1000 miles.
