Earlier today when starting my 2013 Boxster S (from dead cold,) the message about low coolant came up.
No signs of leaks anywhere and the cap, inside and out looks good. Can't recall when and if the level has been checked any time recently.
I don't have any coolant around, "the right stuff" or otherwise, but I added distilled water... a bit more than a quart. That amount only mildly concerns me, and it's not going to change the 6 gallon+ ratio by much.
My question is in regard to the proper coolant type if another top-up is needed: some research reveals it's the pink type, and there's a Zerex G40 that has the Porsche OK, but elsewhere I read it should only be G12 or G12+. (I'm aware that the coolant should/must be phosphate-free.)
So: G40 or G12?

Nice pic. I would go with G40.

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
