I was ready to sell my Boxster and listed for $12.5. I didn't get any bites and dropped the price to $10k. Still no bites. I never really wanted to sell, just thought since I hadn't been driving it much in the past few years, it was time. BUT, then I took it out for a drive the thrill of my car came back. I just enjoy driving it so much, I can't let it go! SO, I'm still here and have decided to uby BarryL - Main Forum
Excellent advice! You've been such a wealth of information and help over the years, Mike. Thank you.by BarryL - Main Forum
Sad to let it go... Purchased new in February 2002, custom ordered from the factory through Sonnen Porsche. This car still drives like the day I drove it out of the showroom floor. This car has been well maintained, garaged and regular oil changes every 7,500 miles throughout its life. All service records are available. After 20 years of ownership, it is time to let my Boxster go. Sad for me as it has been such a great car and I have thoroughly enjoyed years past of the help from this group. Drives as good as it did when I drove it out of the showroom floor. I noticed the blue book is so low on a our cars, especially given the high mileage on mine. So I am going to try listing on the high side of what I see ouby BarryL - Main Forum

My top is stuck in the open position. Ruled out the emergency brake micoswitch as parking brake light illuminates when parking brake is engaged. Looking to replace the convertible top relay and looking for a less expensive source. The part is about $200, so before buying new, I was wondering if anyone knew of a source perhaps a wrecked 2002 Boxster? Glad to know this board is still operationalby BarryL - Main Forum

For those that have done so, can you help me locate directions on how to access the micro switch at the hand brake? Thanks.by BarryL - Main Forum

Good weather on the west coast has meant the top has been down for the past week. However, heading out this morning and wanted to put the top up...pressed switch.....Nothing.... Checked emergency break. to be sure it was engaged and car was in Park.. tried again... nothing. Seems like I have read about a microswitch type issue..... in my case, the windows did not begin to lower and no sounds atby BarryL - Main Forum
My new (used 110k mile) transmission, DOF solution, major service including spark plug tube replacement done. Great to have my boxster back and running like new. Its been awhile since it has run so well ....I almost forgot how it should drive! Thanks to Pedro for his advice along the way.by BarryL - Main Forum

In my case, the first used transmission installed did not perform well upon test drive, and had to be removed and returned, so my indy has ordered a second used tiptronic transmission that apparently has 90K miles on it. Hopefully, second time is a charm. In the meantime, I decided to have my indy order and install Pedro's DOF Kit 2,. I will report back on the results, Thanks, Andy for sharingby BarryL - Main Forum
My 2002 Boxsters engine failure occurred in 2006 with around 39k miles. Porsche replaced the engine with what I was told the upgraded ims bearing at the time, so I was assuming it was replaced with a 2006 engine. But my Indy shared with me the engine number that he said indicates that it is a 2002 engine with a dual bearing ims. I am assuming it's the type I can replace without breaking open theby BarryL - Main Forum
Based on my engine number per my indy....This opens up possibilities for the IMS bearing replacement. Since I have 175K miles on the existing engine and bearing, looks like we did pretty good to get this far and since we are getting a replacement or rebuilt transmission, I can go ahead with replacing the IMS bearing.by BarryL - Main Forum
