it was august 1997 when i found porsche pete’s boxster board, ppbb.com. i had been obsessing on the boxster for a long time, and the people at ppbb fueled the fire. it was hard to get info back then…early days of car forums, but i was obsessed. one day in september, i called my wife from work and told her that i was going to niello porsche (sacramento, now rocklin) at lunch. i was set on ordeby SMILIN - Main Forum
great pics. i love it when people from behind the keyboards can get together.by SMILIN - Main Forum
may you all have fun toys, fun people to enjoy them with, and miles of open trail! santa delivered this to my garage for the neighbor kids. i get the joy of watching the excitement and build process. i love how they rolled over the jacks to help.by SMILIN - Main Forum
i have her on one of those semi-elastic tethers and body harness to keep her in the car and away from me, but i’m afraid it would be a really horrible situation in an accident. spydie senses on high alert!by SMILIN - Main Forum
i’ve got a bit of work ahead before i can claim success. at least all of her slobber is conditioning the leather. i’m going to keep at it…trying to get her more calm and comfortableby SMILIN - Main Forum
i’m sorry for your loss pedro. rip gary. it’s a good reminder that real people are behind these keyboards.by SMILIN - Main Forum
i’m one month shy of 25 years of ownership, and i’ve found a new way to fit the car into my current day-to-day life: road trips, coffee shops, hiking…here we come! i still need to figure out a better way to protect the door cards…she’s still a wild child.by SMILIN - Main Forum
another fun landmark with the spyder - a birthday ride for my friend. his first time in a convertible, and i hit 5,000 miles finally. of course, we look spectacular in our matching hats.by SMILIN - Main Forum
never have…on AT LEAST 25 oil changes on the 986. it’s such a small amount that it’s not worth the risk of making more of a messby SMILIN - Main Forum
Quotefrogsterif "carlos (is) in montreal," why are the speedo and odo in miles? he was being kind to us metric-challenged folks p.s. 2007 - 2022 is 15 yearsby SMILIN - Main Forum
excellent that you added lots of details and the videos. no help with the radio. for the seats, swap switches. if the problem persists, then a short with the driver heating element?by SMILIN - Main Forum
Took a drive along a favorite route to check out the fire damage from last year’s Caldor fire. Damn. Sad. I was able to find a few patches of color.by SMILIN - Main Forum
i first installed then years later pulled the cd changer in my ‘98. just plain ol’ boring ol’ rca jacks. i’m almost positive that’s what you’ll find behind the carpet. fiber came in later years.by SMILIN - Main Forum
i’m guessing that it’s been 20 years since the changer was used? um, i mean, when was it last successfully used? are the cds in upside down? does the cd info get presented on the radio display? do the songs appear to play (with song title presented)?by SMILIN - Main Forum
i often get text messages from my neighbors wishing me a nice drive, so i can enjoy it a little more knowing that they’re good sports about the rumbleby SMILIN - Main Forum
i keep telling myself (and the car forums) that someday i’m going to do a 911 GT1 wrap on a boxster. maybe i’ll do this kit instead??? swirls only, or full livery?by SMILIN - Main Forum
i’m happy that you had a good time! thank you for sharing the photos and videos.by SMILIN - Main Forum
thanks for sharing. other than the stig, where are all of the fans? the fan count looks like a mazda race in utah in august.by SMILIN - Main Forum
Dog. Wife. Bike. Dog+Wife. Snow. Forest roads. <<<all translate to too little time in the Boxster! Most recently...a trip to the middle of Nevada...hard to not dream of pushing the speed limit a bit. If you're not interested in zooming in, those speed limit signs are 80 MPH!by SMILIN - Main Forum
awesome ride! i did that at indy on the oval several years ago. i didn’t get the quick change of direction, but what stuck with me was the lift on my helmet. accelerate down the straight. head and whole body is lifted (feels like) out of the seat. hit the banked turn and get violently jammed back down in your seat repeat. not enough repeat. but it was AWESOME!by SMILIN - Main Forum
CFG - ha! our inside man. i ordered several items thru him.by SMILIN - Main Forum
