Was diagnosed with many problems - worn cables, misaligned linkages etc. After a total tranny rebuild (necessary - it was toast) and new cables, the problem persisted in 2nd and reverse. So i took the problem into my own hands. I finally pulled the actual shifter apart, used Teflon-carrier lubricant on the plastic shifter sliding parts beneath the boot, cleaned out decades of old gunk and voila,by grant - Main Forum
Id di some experimentation and reading. Unlike yours, mine clogged closed. It was a combination of dirt/carbon in the valve itself and a clogged teeny, tiny screen. I took it out and flushed it with carb cleaner, blew through it both ways, and put it back. It worked, but I knew this was only temporary. So, to bulk up the teeny, tiny valve, i added a length of gas line on the input side, cut it,by grant - Main Forum
Its a ceramic based oil enhancer. LM has a good rep, so they get some cred for that. But in general, additives, unless you have a very special problem, are frowned upon by oil blenders. One of the problems is that the interaction with the additive package, which is very specific to an oil, is simply unknown. For example, there was an additive some years back that counter-acted the anit-foaming aby grant - Main Forum

Hi Tony, You can buy the fluid several places, including some of the Porsche dealers that deal over the web (suncoast, and the one in the pacific northwest, i forget). The fluid really holds up well, so don;t expect miracles, btu the factory calls for a change at 90k, so you are due. costs about $800 if you can find it, which often i cant. Its main benefit is that it can handle large volumes of oil and hgih g-loads, both of whcih overwhelm the normal one. I don't know if it is also more robust probably. On the street mine seem to last well, but i don't drive as many miles as Marc, nor do i live in such a warm climate, both of which contribute. As to AoS failures, I have a 'back of my head" concern that the oil usage I'm chasing in my otherwise great-running track motor (new, rebuild) may be the 1 year old AoS, simply overwhelmed by the high sustained pressure, high temperature oil vapor, and hgih flow of track use (put foot too floor, wait, brake hard, repeat). ... a good lubricant Pure oil in some cases, but my favourites depending on the application are: - liquid graphite for locks, threads where you want minimum buildup, etc. - superlube or tri-flon/tri-flow 9 (FTFE in a light oil base) - dry lube (where you need dry and non-dirt attracting) - silicone spray (where called for) Grantby grant - Main Forum

first, i have installed defective electrical portions so don't assume new = good. Usually, yes, but not always. These are not good parts. Second, if it is not aligned 100% true, it wont turn properly. I found it quite fussy to get right, especially the first time. On mom's old Audi, fortunately (!!!!) i had lots of practice to get good at it. Gby grant - Main Forum
I have had two motors where i replaced OEM IMS bearings with LNE retrofit kits. Unlike most, i have then had those motors back apart (one motor apart, one bearing out when service was done) and been able to inspect them. My statistically crap sample of two indicates that the LNE bearings deteriorate faster than OEM bearings. YMMV - but it is NOT a solution IMNSHO. A better option would be toby grant - Main Forum
... that its so very different. And variety is the spice of life (as the old song says " that's what the judge is gonna tell my wife..."). You get to experience something new - and fairly brutal. It will be a rush, at least for a while. And probably quite cheap to keep. As to the boxster and the fuel metering; this sounds like a real puzzle, and not the kind i enjoy. I have M030 as my street setup in my 2004 base. I have PSS9s (with all the rubber) in my track car (2000S). Even on full soft, the PSS9s can be abusive on really, really bad roads. On normal roads they are great. I cruise 535 miles to VIR or 480 to Mid Ohio in complete comfort. But on the elevated, decrepit highways snaking into Hoboken NJ and NYC, i have actually had impacts that caused smallby grant - Main Forum
For control arms and bushings, TRW and Lemforder (plus some others for mounting rungs that I dont know off hand). Amazingly, once you have the part numbers, sometimes Amazon. If you mean the retailers, I am not all that familiar. Pelican is always a good source, although their pricing varies (one some things great, on others awful). The choice of springs and shocks is somewhat personal, but i have learned over many years and many replacements that buying parts intended to work together ( e.g.: OEM sets, coilover) is always preferable to mixing and matching. So OEM springs and B4 Bilsteins is a good choice. My experience with springs - they often change their rate and/or crack with age. Might be worth replacing "while in theby grant - Main Forum

I did some research, and finalized on the Geiken; primarily because; 1. it has a good rep for reliability/durability and many DO NOT. 2. It has good decel lockup as well, important for stable trail-braking etc. Its really nice. That said, I agree with Pedro - getting setup and suspension right is #1. At the limit its hard to put down full power anyway! especially for the street it may be wortby grant - Main Forum
i diagnosed and did that job on my S6. To be fair, i went "above and beyond" and put a lawnmover gas line filter in series with the one that clogged (after and horu of noodling that was what i found) - so mine will clog again, in, oh, 36,273 years :-) But it was a bunch of diagnosis, and then the parts. A new valve would have been about $60? I cleaned it and added the hose and the lawnmower paby grant - Main Forum
