But not this year. The COVID thing is still a mess.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
But you live in Florida. There is no COVID in Florida. Just ask DeSantis. In fact, be careful claiming that you havd/had COVID, that might be illegal there too. (Not a political post - just levity). This COVID thing is no joke. I hope that you and yours have weathered the storm. I have several friends and acquaintances who did not make it, and several others who were wrecked for some timeby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Looked to replace our existing car with new or used. New, the dealers were charging 20-35% over MSRP. And they flat out stated that is what they were doing. In discussion, the salesman said they were selling so few cars, they needed to meet the profits required to keep the doors open. And BTW, all but one dealer was doing it and all within the range. As for used, they were charging the equivalby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Glad to hear you are enjoying your car. In the end that is all that matters. But I am particularly happy to know about the 150-170 driving band which is so important to all Americans.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
They said - right in the episode that if it was not Elvis doing all the engine work, the fee would be well in excess of 10,000 GBP. That is like $15K US. Even then, that strikes me as cheap, but the "well in excess" is a lot of wiggle room. In real life, I bet Hartech paid to have their services displayed on the channel. Their logo was very prominently displayed. That is unusual on that showby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I am glad to see people driving their cars. Strange on the maintenance. Only four wiper sets in 200K? I go through at least one set per year. I am stil on my first set of rear brakes and I am approx 90K miles. On my second set of fronts. I just this year put on my third set of tires (you did NINE in 200K?) I am on my fourth or fifth battery in 22 years.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I submit nothing is clear, at all. Electric might work in densely populated areas, but will be problematic in areas that require long hauls even for ordinary folks. And given that China, India, Pakistan and Brazil are all making the carbon issue larger without reference to the rest of the world, we can talk all day, but it is just talk unless the needs of those people are dealt with.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
but the infrastructure is not the same. it is a bunch more dangerous to move around and store. Someone might be better to explain, but is the energy potential the same by volume? And how much does it cost to extract from air or water?by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
At present, making electric is too dirty. More pollutants than ICE. The grid is not strong enough. just ask your utility if you can get 4 chargers at your house - or even on your block. California is already experiencing rolling black/brown outs in heavy usage times. Will synthetic fuel work? Too soon to tell, but I suspect the energy required to make it will exceed its energy output. But agby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I like them just fine. i am in CT and run the can mostly year round. I avoid snow/salt though and drive my winter beater.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
The post speaks to the transmitter not the receiver. If the key was in your pocket with other stuff, the transmitter could have been depressed many times with walking or sitting or moving about. Clearly that might be dependent on a number of other factors. But it is still possible.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
As I was told - and not independently confirmed - there was a modest recent formulation change in order to meet a heightened EU standard. That change will not have an effect on older cars at all. I suspect the OEM's must now "recommend" only the new formulation, not the older, so the label had to change? But that is a guess on multiple fronts as I know nothing at all re: Mobil.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Always glad to see one of the OG's on the board. I have no information on your specific question, but I suspect there are PDF manuals out there for the specific car. Otherwise, it would be a variant on the main manual. But you knew that I suspect. Good luck on your search.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
If I recall correctly, all 2.5's had the dual row bearing that was much less prone to failure. So that is a more significant point.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
It think his accumulated wisdom on our cars is a welcome addition to the discussion. Even though he no longer owns a P-car, he probably has more accumulated seat time that several of us put together. Further, he had that kind of relationship with his dealer, thet he obtained a lot of useful information. I suspect there is little to be seen or heard that Marc has not seen or heard. Further, as tby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I just bought my Christmas present. An yes, it will take that long..... The GAHH - seat covers in Savannah Beige. ETA appx mid December. Thank you Pedro for the consult - I will let you know how it works out.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I have missed seeing his posts with galactic mileage on the Porsche's. It seems a long time. But I might just be imagining things.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
And the article talks about sales of only 1501 total cars? That must mean it only applies to a variant. They MUST have sold more than 1501 cars in three years. This is the Boxster not the Carrera GT.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

Is that a correct muffler? Has the engine been replaced? I do not think I have seen a single exhaust setup on a 356 as original.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

That would have a higher energy content than traditional gasoline. It will still be expensive to make, and will require tax breaks to be competitive head to head in the current market. But the market is likely to change in the near future. e gas might prove to be the only solution. Further, once economies of scale kick in, the price will come down some. No matter what, it will likely be betteby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
These electric cars do nothing for me at all.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
There is no point in a 21 yr old Boxster. I suspect most Honda's are faster in a drag race. But the other guy's speed off a dead stop was shocking to say the least.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I am pretty sure the guy was being a bit of a showoff, but as soon as the light changed, that thing was off. It is friggin' stupid fast. All I head was a whoosh and the guy was several hundred feet in front of me before I was out of first gear. To be fair I was not pushing the Boxster at all, but if I was, it would not matter. There was a BMW with the guy and they ten proceeded to weave in andby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Mike said it better than me. What he said, was the point I was trying to convey.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
If that is the result of "Porsche specs" then you should consider your options. Perhaps you should affirmatively ask for a more neutral setup to preserve your tires. You might consider a more balanced set of tire parameters too. All seasons are just fine for us. In fact, I would argue they are much better for us 9 months out of the year. Further, you should not assume the dealer set up the caby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
